I have a goal of waist! I am just past BSL right now. 7 inches to waist for me I think. I have had my hair this long once before in my life - for no reason then except that I simply didn't cut it for a while as I had a new baby (who is almost 21 now!!) Since then I have mainly had it around shoulder. My hair has always grown fast (though I never measured until I joined here...people measure their hair?!? ) I still don't measure obsessively but enough to now know it grows an average of 1 1/4" per month. When I take into consideration the fact that I want it to look waist length not be waist length when stretched (I have wavy hair with up to 1 1/2" of spring), that I will be getting it trimmed soon, and that my current average growth could slow down over winter...I figure I should be at waist by next late-spring. We'll see!! For now, I am enjoying feeling it brush against my upper arms and getting caught behind my back when I sit down...lol!

You waves/curls are beautiful! Major texture envy here! I think it looks close in both photos.

I've been growing for just over 2 years from Chin and change my goal from Hip/TBL on a daily basis. I'm hoping for waist by the end of 2013 and then will decide based on the condition if I'll go longer.
Below is a clarified airdried hair typing pic of my hair at BSL, waist is 6 inches away.

I'm looking forwards to getting to know some of you as we all grow.

    - I just love the look on the pug in the background ! Hahah awesome .

Thank you I'm back to henna/indigo black with a bleached streak now. Hoping for waist by the end of next year. I'd imagine we'll be here together for a while!

Anyone know any updos for BSL wurly hair? That wouldn't make me lose the wurls I mean.
Hi Ruzovy; I think your best bet would be to do a loose Lazy Wrap Bun. Just loosely gather your hair back into a pony then lightly twist it once. Loosely wrap the rest of the length around that center twist, securing it with hairpins as neccessary. Gives a bit of a messy look but leaves the wurls intact. You can also secure with a Flexi or Ficcare if you prefer.
    Have fun with it

I love your curls but fwiw I don't think it looks closer straightened. I am looking at the lines in your shirt and although the curly ends are wispier looking they are hitting the same line I know that those heavy hemlines, being more solid and all than the fairytales, seem to say see no disputing I am here here here! woot! but I seriously don't see a real difference. I hope this is good :S

I have about 7-8 inches to go depending how curly my hair is ( it varies from 2c to a mix of 3a-3b) Glad to find a thread I fit in!
