Can I call it apl?

Both pics are untouched air dried hair (natural texture) on wash day.

I've had an amazing growth spurt this month which is very unusual for me. I went from 20.5 in. to 22 in. I apologize in advance if this doesn't work right, I'm new to flickr, any tips would be helpful.

Curlymoptop, I personally call APL when the hair reaches my armpits when my hair is down, not when my arms are raised. I find my hair always looks way longer like that and it's kinda deceptive.

It just depends where you want to call APL.

I personally would wait another 1-1.5 inches before it but that's just me being silly probably.

Maybe, I'll wait until the next towel test. I have to say it's really hard to take a pic of yourself when you're trying to keep the towel in place at the same time.

I would say you're almost there. Can you get someone to help you take a picture so you can do a towel test?

I blew the pictures up and posted a separate thread and have confirmation! I'm calling it apl. Thank you palaeoqueen. I think if I asked my husband to take a pic like that he'd be wondering if I lost my marbles (he'd find it a bit obsessive to say the least). I'll be keeping an eye on this thread though to keep up with everyone's progress.

I will have a redheart threnody four tine coming to me that they (GTS) will remake for me. I purchased right before the announcement but there was a mix up and it went to someone else. They were very kind about taking care of me and have gone over the top already to make up for it, plus, they will get me the fork eventually. They are awesome.

Anyone else have action pics for an updo for our length hair? Need to see more pics.

Hey, as a side note, my flipped braid loop puffed out thing from a few pages back (see pic) doesn't hold that great when forked from above.

It held better with a horizontal forking, like side to side. I bet sticks would do better this way as well. Maybe I will try this idea today.

I'm going to be out of town for the next TTT! Oh well. I'm pretty sure I'm APL anyway, plus I'll have an extra few days of growth on the rest of you

A shed update: I've been extra superdy-duper gentle with my hair the past couple weeks or so, and oiling with my new "liquid gold growth oil" daily, using either a neem & tea tree or ayurvedic herbs shampoo bar, and leaving my hair alone until it's completely dry. Not only did DF say, "well, you have naturally curly hair..." last night (it's just wavy, he's silly

) but I haven't shed nearly as much!
Plus, after I get a couple more inches of length, I'll be a solid 1c/2a.
