So. First. Congrats to all of you that have made it to APL! Big happy cheers to you all.

Second. As I have been ignoring my hair I don't know how long it is. Not really. All I know is that it isn't APL yet. I am a bit timid about looking. I kinda hope it grew a lot while being ignored but, knowing me and my hair it won't have. heh One of these days I will have to brave it up and look.

Third. I enjoyed going back a bit in this thread and seeing the progress everyone has been having. There is some great looking hair here.
Hey, you never know. It's amazing sometimes how well just ignoring hair can allow the growing time to pass by quickly. If you really don't want to look now, you can wait until the August TTT.

Another time I did an olive oil and honey treatment and got the same fuzzy result.

I haven't tried mineral oil yet. I too dislike the baby oil smell.
Yes, what I was reading is that some people do get frizz with honey. Some people try leaving it out or subbing something else. I seem to get some frizz no matter what, but not extreme. Luckily a tiny leave in takes care of it for me.

My mineral oil has no smell. It's so cheap in the section of the store where they sell the laxatives.

I let my hair almost dry and then added Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse (what I had in my closet). I'll take them out at 2pm (the time the wedding will be this weekend) and let you all know the result.

ETA: here is a picture of my head after a few hours:

Just resize 'em in paint or photoshop or what have you before uploading.
I think it's generally preferred around here to have you pictures slightly smaller, because not everyone has a lightning fast internet connection and a picture that size can make the page take a lot longer to load for some people.

I actually didn't mean for it to be that big, but I posted it from my cellphone and expected it to come out smaller. That's just the size it ended up being.

Like Bunnysaur said, you can resize your pictures in Photo Shop or other photo manipulation software.

Still working on the whole braiding skillz thing. I'm sure some of you are way better at it than I am. Give this a try and post pictures?
I've just redone my updo with your tip in mind. I'll take a picture when I get home

Headband curl results: The front pieces of hair came out in nice spirals but the back was just extra flippy. Sorry, I had to go somewhere after work so I didn't get a chance to take a picture. This probably would work better with slightly longer hair than mine since the curls start so low on the head with this method. Plus I wonder if I made the sections too wide in the back.

I have some nice barrettes with me, so I think for the wedding I will just pull back the sides and not worry about the unevenness. I'll probably scrunch my hair a bit to encourage wave.

No problem, I didn't take it like that. I agree about not wanting to post huge pictures. I actually had wished I'd cropped it before posting it. It's a new phone, so I'm still learning where all the photo tools are.

Ok, I'm no good at braiding, french braids and stuff. Need to learn, but I think i just figured out an updo idea for me.

I have been doing this stupid peacock twist thing that's like the only thing i can do with a fork. Tried a lazy wrap and Pha bun but hair's too short.

Tried a pathetic baby cinnamon bun that only makes one half circle before I run out of hair.

Then looking at some of these posts, I got the idea that is so simple, why have I not done this yet. Gathered my hair down at the nape, braided it, then flipped the braid up, tucked the ends under to make a "loop", and forked it down with the fork running straight across from 9:00 to 3:00 if that makes any sense (like horizontal).

I don't have my hand mirror can't lay my hands on it, but used my cell phone to take a cruddy pic so I could see, and it looks good, and HOLDS. Looks like some kind of braided baby bun. This is SO SIMPLE. Why didn't I think of this before?

I'll let you know later if this is truly a winner. I'll be trying this out this weekend.

Yay! Still in shoulder to APL land. Sigh. Le sigh.

My goal is to hit APL by next summer (while curly).

I will say this. Having shoulder length hair finally made me feel like I have "girly" hair again, if that makes any sense.
    Grew out the pixie.
