Would you make this potential sacrifice?

Lets say you styled your hair in a way that you absolutely adore, you love how it suits who you are, its more comfortable than anything else, and it makes you feel wonderful throughout the day! You're hair is also strong and well taken care of. But...the style uses a lot of bobby pins than usual. You put them in gently, and take them out gently, but are not sure whether this would show noticeable damage over time. Would you still wear it?

Yes. I really don't think Bobby pins kill hair.

I would! Of couse, if there was noticable damage I would look for alterative ways to obtain the hairtyle with less bobby pins or exchange them with hair friendly toys ^.^

Bobby pins would NEVER work in my hair..still too thick and long. My crimped 3 inch hairpins work fine for me and there's never any chance of them harming my scalp.

Yes, if you are that gentle with them and don't notice many broken/shed hairs, I think that would be fine.

I wore my bangs pinned back with one bobby pin for a long time and don't think I had any damage.

If possible, spread the legs of the pin before you pull it out.

I have yet to find anything that will hold my ultra-fine, ultra-slippery hair other than bobby pins, so I use them anytime I wear anything other that a braid.

I am always careful that the bobby pins still look new and undamaged, and I take care putting them in and taking them out. I have never noticed any damage, as long as I don't use any pins that look like the protective plastic is coming off the tips. (Is that plastic? Maybe it's rubber or something...)
It's best to switch up styles from what I understand though, so I try to rotate

Yes, I would. In fact, I do, although I use the long bobby pins that are straighter and called "roller pins". As long as you discard them when the little rubbery tips are less than perfect, I think they're fine.

I have some bobby pins that are wider (goody or scunci I think). I suspect they are less damaging, but I don't have any basis for that.

I use roller sized bobby pins for my chignon all the time.

If your bobby pins have coated ends, you place them gently and remove them gently you shouldn't have any problem.
