I so belong in this group! My longest lengths reach my shoulders but my hair is 5" long all over after being bald from chemo so I will be doing the mullet for a while but cutting is not an option, I want my waist length hair back! I have not started measuring the LHC way, from the hairline to the longest hair. I just measure my actual hair so I have eyebrow length in the front and touching shoulder length in the back. So I will have very layered hair! Does not matter, I am healthy and that is the important thing. Ladies, get those mamograms! That is what saved my life. Literally. Okay, off the soapbox and back to reading the posts....
AKA MotoGirl... August 2014 - WAIST! Four years after growing out from bald due to chemo.
I can sympathise with you here! I was doing the same and growing out a hugely uneven POB from chin, I got to 1 year of no trims by wearing the front up in different ways befor I gave in and chopped it! My front layers had just reached APL but the back was much shorter with far too many layers from starting with a shaved bit that I gave in.
It feels so much better now it's even and I'm happy I cut even if it meant losing length.
Maybe you can tolerate it longer as you are a curly though? Mine is straight but would flick up at UBL and the layers would go everywhere and look awful. I think maybe your natural texture will help you through that horrible flick milestone!![]()

I sympathize on the bob thing. I was also growing out an extremely angled bob and when I had the front evened up with the back I lost a good 4 or 5 inches. However, it looks so much better all one length, so I guess it's worth the wait to have it the way I want.

I'm still wondering on if I should get my trim or not and last night I dreamed I went for it and the hairdresser gave me a just below chin bob! So I think i'll wait a bit longer![]()

Hey ladies...what's your favorite bun for bun curls at this length?
I feel like I'm at a length where I *should* be able to dry my hair in a bun at work, and then take it down to have nicely-shaped waves or curls after work. I still struggle with it though. Twisted buns ( like peacock twists and cinnabuns and french twists) seem very asymmetrical and wonky when I take them down. I feel like a fully rolled sock bun should work, but I have trouble getting my hair into that bun to begin with...layers just flop out everywhere while I'm rolling it.
I do two fully rolled sock buns, one up high on one side and one really low on the other like this http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ctureid=105353
It is easier to do when it's a bit wet and looks tidy enough for work and this way the curls aren't divided in the middle of your head!
EDT: just remembered...or I don't take a ponytail and twist it all in the same direction for a peacock twist... I make a ponytail shape then split in two in the middle and twist in opposite directions (inwards) then clip with a claw clip for more even results.
