I think I'm here!
Not really sure, as I don't feel BSL
Maybe because my hair layers a lot shorter at the front and sides.

SL - APL - Just BSL~ BSL ~ Waist length - Hip length
Currently in the infamous BSL stall
I'm an inch or so past BSL, BUT... I need to go for a trim
I don't want to. The last time I went for a trim was when I had waist length layers and she hacked it off to BSL because of damage. I know that won't happen this time around, but I'm still not very excited at the prospect :\
kyandii: Definitely BSL solid![]()
My current hair length as of today
Thumbs at waist.
Life is meant to be an enjoyment
Straightened my hair on Saturday as I was going out, and it's amazing how many split ends I have nowI have been S&D for the last few weeks to try and get rid of them and now they are all back! No more hair straightners for a very long time! wish I could give up for good but i'm still learning about my hair and just feel it looks better when straight. If i'm going to get to waist without damage i'm going to have to give up though!
Last trim - Nov 2012Renegray

Happy at hip for a while!
Well...
I have had regular hairdressers, but... it's almost always been someone who I picked up as a new stylist fresh out of school with a job doing mall hair at someplace like JC Penny's or Trade Secrets. At a cheap place they make their money off customers being satisfied, and I will happily follow someone I've got trained wherever they go. I find you need every 4-6 week visits for 2-3 years tho to get into a good enough routine with a stylist. Maybe less if you're being religious about brow waxing?
It's tough because long hair is not terribly exciting to trim. I usually am very up front about the fact that my cut is as boring as can be, and that I like it boring. I also tend to prefer having the stylist work on French braids on me and do brows so she sees me more often and has more stuff to do so the boring cut is not soooo depressing for her.
The other reliable choice is a barber. If all you want is a simple trim, odds are a barber will give you exactly what you want and have to be argued into taking a fair price and tip.
The third option is to go to self trimming. At this point I need trims so rarely that it's just as easy to self trim as find a nice barber or stylist.
I finally got around to measuring yesterday, and it turns out the trim I got almost a month ago took off more than I realized. Yesterday I was at barely-BSL, so no wonder I felt like I was back in APL-BSL hell: I was. And with thick ends instead of wispy ends, even BSL feels short. I need those wispies to wrap around and make buns hold!
I'm not mad at teh hairdresser though. I asked her to make a nice even hemline while taking off as little as possible, and that's what she did. There was barely any hair on the floor when she was done. Just that the small amount she took off, made a really big difference. I guess I've learned my lesson.
Benign neglector par excellence
I believe I need 1 or 2 inches more to be at waist. I can' t wait!
i cant wait until im able to put pics up on here. im almost to waist now, but it looks much better than it did since i found this place and learned everything i have about my hair, MUCH better condition. all you ladies have such pretty hair!
