Alyanna - when I couldn't find my sewing measuring tape (the flexi kind) I used to use a string or ribbon. I'd mark it at the length I wanted, then use a ruler/stiff measure or whatever to measure the marked length on the string. It made me feel like I was getting a little more of an accurate measurement.
It's so interesting how everyone is built so differently! I'm short through the shoulders (I know that sounds weird) but petite blouses actually fit better than normal ones (so long as they are 3/4 or short sleeves!) even though I'm 5'8". But then my waist is low enough that if I try to wear a store bought dress, the waist is up around my lower ribs. Not high enough to be empire waist,not on my waist and NOT cute.![]()
