I have several (ok, more than 25, less than 50) high priced hair toys (over $50), and 3 in the over $100 category.

However, those are all over a year. Some are presents. A number are swaps outside LHC because of body jewelry I had for sale. Of those that I've bought flat out, full cost, no questions/blinks of an eye - 3.

And right now, money is tighter, I'm not buying things like that. I look now, keep a list of what I like, and when I can afford things again, I'll get them then or have them remade or something similar made.

Plus the various problems mentioned above when people spend money that they shouldn't or don't have for whatever reason they may have.

All this hair toy talk is making me wish my hair were longer. So I could actually have a reason to use a nice wooden hair fork. I'd love to be able to get one once my hair is long enough to bun, and use it for keeping it up in one.

Monkie, you can buy a lot of cute small clips to put away the sides (my favorite style!). Even though I can bun and stuff, I still do this a lot and love it! Soon you can do half ups, so you can get clips that work both ways! Extra small flexis are great for this on me, but I got a lot of hair. You seem to have too, so an extra small should work for you too, but you might want to check how much hair you want to secure, so minis would work too.

Third time I post this pic in LHC, lol:

Sorry, my hair was drying and poufy.

I don't think I'll completely get rid of my bangs but I do want to grow them longer so I can have more to work with if that makes sense.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but this thread seems to be the best. It's been a long time since I've been on the site.. a couple of months ago, I chopped 9 inches off my hair out of frustration. I've spent the past year trying to recover from radiation for Lymphoma. I just learned that my cancer returned and now I have to have chemotherapy. The doctor told me that the drugs they will be using it almost certain that I will lose my hair. I'm going to go and get a super short hair cut so that I don't end up with handfuls of hair on my pillow and clothes. I have not been to a hair stylist for about 10 years! I know my hair will grow back and hopefully it will grow long again. I just hope it doesn't take 10 more years. It use to grow out to waist length in just three years. But now with my age and three rounds of cancer, I might not be as lucky this time.

Anyway, I'll try to check in more often.

    Oh Cyndi, I'm so sorry
I hope it doesn't take ten more years too. When are you going to have it cut? I hope you have all the support you need and deserve during this difficult time.

Oh, I'm so sorry Cindi. We have another member currently regrowing from chemo too, and hers seems to be doing okay. My prayers are with you.

Cyndi, prayers for your total healing! Yes, this is a perfect thread for you - but as someone mentioned, we have another member regrowing from chemo. I'm a bit surprised that there isn't a "regrowing from chemo" thread, with cancer being so prevalent these days - wonder if you ladies could start one?

My own hair drama seems totally insignificant in comparison, but I'm still wavering on whether to trim - and whether to re-cut my bangs. I'm noticing my wrinkles so much more without bangs! I'm thinking that I can always grow them out later, when the rest of my hair is longer - or is that more of a PITA than growing them out with the rest of it? Ugh, I really wanted to see how I'd look with it all long and one length, but (a) it's driving me nuts right now, and (b) I'm not at all sure I'm gonna like it anyway!

Maybe rather than obsess about my hair, I should get my Christmas decorations completely put away!

Awe I'm sorry, Cindi. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I wish you luck wit your illness and hair journey. You can look at this as a brand new start that allows you to fall in love with your hair all over again as it goes through all of it's length stages. I think it's really cool your hair has grown to waste in just 3 years! I wish my hair could do that. I have faith you can grow it that long again. What have you done in the past to help it grow so long??
