While my genes would most certainly code for curls - both my sister and my mother have lovely curly hair - I got the "straighter than a stick" genetic coding from my dad. Been that way for as long as I can remember.

However, I'm wondering if it's partly because I just switched to using Aveda's Pure Abundance (volumizing) 'poo and condit, plus the fact that I'm braiding and bunning a lot more...which would put some curl into my hair.
Two roads diverged in a wood and I, I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Don't think I've posted since I was a "super shortie" with my own haircolor.
Now I'm a shoulder length henna head..
Me, too! I was so caught up being a "chin to shoulder" that I forgot to recognize that I'm in a new category now. Yea!! And congrats to you, too, FLUKE.

Looked in the mirror this morning and it looked like my hair grew a little overnight.

I know I probably just wasn't paying much attention to the length for the past few days and it was probably just lying on my back differently. Still, it's nice to be surprised by the length.

I feel like shoulder to APL is a fairly large stretch for me. I think APL to BSL, and even BSL to waist, will be easier.
I want to finally get back to Classic. Growing again starting March 2018.

Hello ladies! I'm new here and joining the club. My hair is currently just below my shoulder line and very damaged from bleaching it for years. My goal is to get it to APL next, but I may need a number of trims to get the damaged parts out as I go.

    Hi All,

I'm sitting on shoulder length at the moment... the dreaded flip stage. I swear that it’s looking shorter than a month ago because it’s flipping more at the moment
Grow grow grow, where it stops no body knows.

I know! I wet the ends of my hair and tried combing it straight with gel for my May length picture. No luck.

Though I must say, the flippy part can be kind of cute. Personally, if I could stand wearing my hair down, I'd probably really like this length (maybe even my layers).

I made BSL about a week ago! So I definitely don't belong in this thread anymore... but I'm hanging around anyway :P I swear the key to growing your hair fast is to decide you're gonna cut it... When I get to waist I might chop back to BSL so I can get rid of the dye (and accompanying damage) so my hair seems to be in TURBO MODE! Hehehe.

OK, I'm going to cut to Pixie when I get to APL!

    (Think it will work?)

Thats funny *points at hair* "you want your dry ends off, well you better grow!"

Shoulder length is so frustrating! Especially with layers. I can barely get it into a single braid or two braids, but the bottoms of the braids are choppy and they sit uncomfortably around my neck. I'm really looking forward to having APL hair!
