    Question Curls---more in certain areas?

I just saw some lovely rag curls someone did and they took photos of and I noticed that the curls at the sides were tighter than at the back of her head.

This is something I always had when I curled my hair. Now I have natural curl and the same thing has happened: I have spiral curls at the side, and as you go around from either side of my head, I have then waves, then a dead straight section RIGHT in the back. And yes, that's the hardest section to add curl to (not that I have in the past 10 years )

So, I'm curious to know for those who have waves, curls and who use rag curlers or other methods of curling, if you notice the same thing?

I picked the second one, more/tighter curls in the back. Although, I should have picked the 'does frizz count' option.

I have always had more curl at the canopy and in the back than on my sides. Even when my hair was longer, I had these spirally curls hanging down my back and these weird wavy pieces hanging down from near my face.

Oh, I gave multiple options! So people could have fun with the frizz one

My curls are about the same all around my head unless I do something to style them.

Heh, I voted frizz. My curls aren't at all consistent, but the ones at the nape of my neck are much tighter/coarser than anywhere else. The hair at my temples also is a very tight curl compared to the rest, but it isn't at all coarse like the nape hairs. So I guess my hairline, all around, tends to be curlier? Strange.

My hair tends to curl a lot more at the sides.

Yes! It tends to curl more at the back, though it's not a stark difference and I think I'm the only one who notices. In the front I've got loose corkscrews, in the back they're tighter, and whereas it's possible to heat straighten the front it takes ages (and a lot of frustration) to do the same for the back. Hence I categorise myself 2c/3a

My curls are more like waves now, but when they actually curled, the were just a bit looser on the sides. Now they only really corkscrew towards the bottom, so I cont really see much of a difference.

I've got corkscrew curls at the front but on the back of my head my hair is only wavy. In addition, the canopy of my hair is wavier - what you can see is 2b/c I think (as I've classified myself), but if I lift that up, the hair underneath is maybe a 1c (if that) - I can't get decent waves in it no matter what I do to it.

I chose "I haven't noticed a difference". I think my hair is pretty much consistently curly all over.
