    Question Anyone Used Rainbow Henna?

I was going to give lush's henna a try but wile i was out i thought i would stop in at my local Planet Organics to see what they had for haircare. I was talking to the girl that works in the cosmetic section and she told me they carry Rainbow Henna and that it is 100% organic. Rainbow Henna has no additives, chemicals, or pesticides.(Info i got from the site) So i looked carefully at the ingredient lists and picked up 2 different ones.

Persian Mahogany - Lawsonia and Indigo

Light Golden Red - Cassia, Chamomile and Lawsonia.

Has anyone ever used these hennas before?

Im going to do them ASAP.

The only thing im not sure about is: Should i mix them together?
Do the Cassia one first and then if its to bright orange add the persian on top?

    What do you think?

Im nervous about the indigo mixed in with the persian one. Obviously they did that to give a deeper color.

I used Rainbow henna a loooooong time ago (2001-2002 maybe?) and loved it, though it's nothing at all compared to the BAQ henna I've been using recently.

It was fine for a light to medium coppery orange (even the kind specifically labeled for a darker color) and at the time I was pretty happy with it, though I didn't know what good-quality henna's potential could be.

It might work better for you, but I never really found Rainbow's stain to be very good. Well, not for darker colors at least. Not matter what 'color' I used, it always turned out bright copper orange.

luciferia - Thanks so much for the reply and your personal experience using it. Its my first time hennaing my hair and i don't have a card to make purchases online rite now so i was thankful to find something i could pay cash for. I have it sitting on my head rite now as i type. I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I am hoping to purchase some from sooq in the future since i have heard so many good things about it. I found this one to be a little gritty.. kind of reminded me of sand so i had to use a bit more water for it to saturate my hair.

I hope it turns out lovely for you! If you don't feel it's dark enough after it has oxidized, I'd suggest leaving it on longer than recommended next time. Not sure what color you're going for, but if I remember correctly, the Rainbow directions said to leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour? I didn't know much about henna back then, so I just followed the instructions as written. Now, whenever I henna I leave it on for around 6-8 hours and the stain always seems really dark red for me. Granted, I'm using a BAQ henna I've been purchasing online, as well as maintaining a burgundy color or 'blondette' hair, so it might be different for you. You can always try a strand test beforehand as well. You can always go darker with henna, but lightening it up is a bit harder to do. Or so I have heard. ^^

It turned out really nice! Im going to order some BAQ henna as soon as my husband gets paid *what a nice hubby he is* from Sooq. I have been hearing just how much better it is and im thinking omg if they say its better than the one i just did then it will totally blow me away i must have it lol ANYWAYS..

I mixed 113g of the light golden red rainbow henna with cassia and chamomile with about 5 tbl spoons of the henna and indigo rainbow mix (persian mahogany)

    then i added hot water,
    2 tbl sp lemon juice
    1 tbl sp Olive oil,
    3 tb sp if paprika
    1 tbl sp ground cloves

I left it on for about 2 1/2 hours and washed it in the bath doing a mermaid soak then showered it off and conditioned. My ends look and feel a little dry but i think that was because of the lemon juice. I think i wont use that next time.

    ITS SCIENCE!!!

HEHE! and i love it. Mixing my own mix.. napping with my henna on and my little scarf on my head. ME TIME muahahaha! *ok i got a little carried away there*

I use their blonde and neutral colors (cassia) with no problems. It's a little hard to rinse out...but for $5 and no shipping it'll do. I prefer Light Mountain brand henna for colors though, plus Light Mountain's henna has a sweet henna smell to it that I like

I've recently used them. Thought they faded too quickly for my taste, but I could have been doing it wrong.

I do my roots with Rainbow every 3-4 weeks. Leave it longer than recommended and use a heat cap; the stain lasts longer and goes a bit deeper.

lastnite- $5!!! I paid $13 but im in canada rite now so that could be the reason lol

Kristin - I am going to try leaving it on 3+ hours next time and use a heating pad. If u use something other than a pad what do you use and where did you get it? Thanks for the tip!
