How long do you wait until shampooing after henna?
I applied henna 2 days ago and I would like to shampoo my hair today.
Do you have to wait more until the colour is final? When do you wash the first time after applying henna?

In the Summer, I use my henna treatment as a replacement for my mid-week CO wash and don't wash until 3 days later, as usual for my wash schedule. But that's in large part because that's when I'd next wash my hair anyway, some do use shampoo right away to help wash it out, or the next day.

I would normally wash it after 3 days as well, but I have work tomorrow and my scalp is orange haha!

I have never heard of anyone leaving henna in their hair that long. I usually wash my hair after cca 2 hours, rarely after I've left it on overnight.

Haha, slow on the uptake here(and can't edit yet) I shampoo my hair the same day I henna it. Haha, I can't believe I actually thought anyone left the henna paste in their hair for three whole days ... oh my I need coffee, hah.

I always washed my hair immediately after rinsing the henna out, otherwise my hair felt coated and icky.

I always used to condition my henna out, then shampoo & condition again. I never waited. I had no idea you had to. Who says so?Originally Posted by Amenahh

Haha sorry, I wasn't clear! I washed my hair with conditioner only to get rid of the henna two days ago.
And now I was wondering about shampooing, because I didn't want it to affect the colour.
