Thumbs up Rave for Bunheads hair pins: Finally, something that holds!

I've tried all sorts of things to hold up my hair. The much ballyhooed magic grips didn't work, no matter how I put them in. Sticks work for some updos and not others.

I ordered the Amish hair pins, but in the meantime, bought some bunheads pins from a dance store. FINALLY, something that really holds--and usually, on the first try. I'm terrible with putting my hair up, and I'm terrible with hair toys, but this really works.

    I highly recommend these.

Do you have a link? These sound very promising. I use the Good Days and they work for me, but they break, eventually, and I can't remember where I got them locally.....so I can't buy replacements. I'll order more someday, but might try something new, too!

Welcome to the world of "using the right hairpins to hold your hair up" ;p

I haven't used these particular ones (and the whole bent thing is interesting...) but I also highly recommend bun pins for updos.

I love the Bunheads pins too. I have not yet tried the Amish pins, but the Bunheads rock!
    Change is the only constant.

Oh, darn, they're metal, as most pins are. I will have to stick with my Good Days. Oh, and basketcase413, they carry Good Days pins at Sally Beauty, in case you have one close to you.

Slow day: Didn't have much to do, so spent three hours on LHC. Busy day: Managed to work in three hours of LHC. Bad day: Barely squeezed in three hours on LHC.

Thanks for the link , I need to look into those as well, I have the same problem, looking for all kinds of thingies and magical stuff to hold up my hair without moving or destroying my scalp.

I was just happy to FINALLY find something that holds my hair. Hair sticks only work for certain styles, and they're not good for holding the ends. With a little practice, these bunheads pins have succeeded in holding my single braid cinnabun, which has never held firmly before in my hair.

I have the Amish hair pins coming this week, so I'll report on those.

You can find these at about 25% off retail at the stores below. (I don't know anything about the service given by any of these stores, so please check out store ratings first!)

The Good Days pins have worked for *a lot* of people--unfortunately, I never could get them to hold.
