How long was your hair when you started using sticks?

I know hair sticks get discussed a lot on the site, but I haven't found anybody asking about it in poll form. In the thread, tell me what type of hair you have.

I think it was probably around waist length when I first started using hair sticks and flexi's. I am now at BCL and I am still finding it hard to do certain buns, maybe I just need to practice more but I am hoping by classic that hair sticks will be much easier to use.

My hair was a little past APL when I first tried using a stick, but I did find that at the shorter lengths hair forks do have much more hold than hair sticks.

BSL ~ I have fine, wispy silver and a short torso....so I have less length at BSL than 'normal'.
A LWB was made with 1-2 fingers to start and held with a stick; also pha buns worked well.
I am just now able to secure cinnamon buns with sticks; I am at hip length, and my hair texture/thickness has changed now that it is more silver.

APL, but I didn't start to use them daily until my hair got longer.

Unless it's a CMW heavy duty spiral, I still can't use a stick without extra pins. Darn slick hair. I think I could use her spirals alone at waist or hip. Mostly I use forks.

Think I was about BSL. I quickly learned forks hold better....But either works now with the right bun. For about two years I was a purist. It had to be a fork or a stick with no other aids, I've relaxed a bit and it is more about the bun than the Toy. I seldom get asked to do a bun fall anyway.

I'm BSL and still can't get my stick to work for me. I have slippery hair so this could be the issue, but I'm hoping once I'm waist I'll be able to get some use out of this stick or I'm swap-boarding it!

I think it was about waist length but I am not certain as the first time I grew out my hair I used them a few times when my hair was about hip length and I know that after I chopped it to shoulder length I started using my hair sticks before it got that long. I have switched the method of using my hair sticks and what buns I use a couple of times since my hair was waist length.

Not gonna vote yet, because I can't! At least not with any sort of consistency. A fork holds better for now. I think I'll need BSL+ for a single stick? But I might try double sticks once I get some lol. But for now I stick with my 4-prong fork because even my 2-prongs won't hold super well.
