Are you rinsing well enough? If I don't rinse the catnip out really well my hair feels slightly sticky and can tangle a bit more.

Detritus, I may not have rinsed well enough before, I just did it again and rinsed really really well, I'm waiting on it to dry now. It was easier to comb wet, and I'm hoping that means it will be dry also. The recent (week and a half ago) henna could have contributed too. Thanks for your help ladies! :)

You are welcome.
I am sure it is written in here somewhere, but I can't find it. Should one still use an ACV rinse to detangle? I tried the catnip tea rinse today after shampooing with a CV bar. I skipped my ACV rinse and rinsed my hair really well after the catnip. I had a heck of a time combing out my hair. Should I add the ACV rinse in after the catnip?
Oh, and now that my hair is dry it is super full, fluffy and soft! :)

Catnip is acidic on its own. However its pH is not as low as that of an acv rinse.
If catnip is not enough after an alkaline shampoo, like the CV bars, I suggest using the acv rinse first, then the catnip rinse for conditioning.
It could also be that the catnip is reacting with the CV bar residue, which all soap based cleansers leave behind, and vinegar rinses remove.
I found that more concentrated dilutions of catnip were less conditioning than the one I use now (which is the one recommended in this thread), 1 level tsp to 275 ml of boiled water.
I also found adding apple cider vinegar to catnip less conditioning.
Stronger versions of the dilution I use were more astringent. My ends were dry. Such dilutions did not help them.
The dilution I use and recommend, keeps my ends moist and soft and has reduced my breakage considerably, as well as prevents split ends.
Ok, I'm soooo tired and I'm getting confused.
I'm just interested in using cat nip to help abade split ends. I do NOT want to color my hair. What recipe would I use for just rinsing for split ends only? Is this safe on color treated hair? I just had mine colored a few weeks ago (demi permanent).
Also, do any of you find your cats attack your hair? I have 2 cats that LOVE cat nip and don't want to be running away from them/have them chewing on my hair as that might be counter productive :D ;)
I use catnip just for shine and split ends. I make mine about the same way ktani does, but I just pour in on at the beginning of my shower and leave it there while I do the rest of my washing and then rinse well before getting out. I don't leave it on for an extended time. I haven't had any color change doing it that way.
detritus--thanks! So, it goes on after you shampoo? Or before. I"ll have to read through this again when I'm not going on such a little amount of sleep ;)

I found that catnip adds colour at lesser times too but the best conditioning is when I leave it on for an hour or so, especially for preventing split ends.
Catnip tea, when brewed and rinsed out, does not attract cats from my expeience.
It stains a light yellow, which IMO would not show up on most hair colours, even a demi.
The recipe - 1 level tsp pet store catnip to 275 ml boiled water. Cover and steep till cooled. Tap the condensation from inside the cover on your finger back into the mug, strain and put into a washed our shampoo bottle for easy application. Apply to hair, after shampooing, bag for 1 hour, rinse. Leftovers can be refridgeratd for up to 1 week and used on skin for conditioning too, just applied and rinsed off.
