I tried catnip between washes.Well..my hair has become oily pretty soon after. So I guess it's better not to use it on the scalp without shampoo before.
I fine the same thing and have to be careful not to get it on my scalp between washes.
I just suggested this to someone by email.
Theoretically it should work.
To save time for a catnip treatment, a heat cap or using a blowdyer on a bagged treatment may speed penetration of the catnip for both conditioning and colour. I am happy with body heat and the coverage I have but it is an idea.
Rinsing catnip with cold water is not necessary. I just make sure that the water is not too warm to lift the cuticle more than necessary, after the cool down period, after I remove the bag, before rinsing.
finally i have catnip coming of of my ears (not literally).
question to those who let hair soak in a bag in a ponytail .
how do you attach on?
weird result!!!
don't know if it was just a fluke but we shall see - i clarified because it was incredibly greasy (too much conditioning cream and no weak cone free conditioner to hand to wash my hair with)
and went straight to catnip bag with skipping conditioner before hand (thought i'd give it a go) , 15 minutes holding the bag against my head in place while i was getting dressed after my shower (that was entertaining)
pored the lot over my entire head afterwards (i never rinse it out after) and i chucked it up in a loose but and went to a dental check up. let it down not long ago and -
http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/u...r/SDC15438.jpgit is very conditioned to the point i may need to wash it sooner then per normal.
i could be
1. a very good catnip batch
2. the bag experiment conditioned it amazingly
nothing else was done differently .
stewing time is per norm - boiled water like you would tea and use when luke warm (enough time that you've clean yourself leisurely and got dressed, and use then so cleaning soapy water doesn't interfere)
shall dabble with this. i'm rather shock in a good way by this super conditioned feel!!!
Interesting, only 15 minutes?
I still refrain from shampooing my hair though. :?
i can't do bottled shampoo but i can do bars followed with vinegar. something which i need to investigate on why my hair hates bottled shampoos just to file away for knowledge.
my hair is generally a greedy animal :p
I use a scrunchie tied around the end of the plastic bag to hold it in place. And you would probably like the results better if you rinsed the catnip out. It is a conditioner, your hair will get what it needs. I use it ever two days or so, washing the second time I catnip, and my hair does not get greasy until day 5 or so. My scalp is normally very oily so this is a huge improvement for me.
I really want to try this, but I couldn't find some catnip here!
It's horrible!
