Re: Catnip for split ends?
I just wanted to post here and mention that catnip soaks and washes are the only thing I have ever used that actually seemed to make me get new growth! After using them a few months I suddenly had a new crop of 1/4" baby hairs everywhere! They are like 3 inches long now!!! I have bangs! lol :D I am hoping for even more then I will have a natural shag :)
Re: Catnip for split ends?
I have posted that catnip use has resulted in my hairline filling in as well increased hair growth for me, although my rate of hair growth has always been good.
Glad to hear you have had similar results!

I naturally have that kind of hairline. Since catnip use it is thicker.
Re: Catnip for split ends?
Question: is there anything wrong with simply not washing the catnip out? I usually leave most of my conditioner in any way (I use the Curly Girl method) so if I'm using it in place of conditioner and leave it in without rinsing it out- would there be any problems?
ETA: Whoa, just used it on my face, holy cow moisturized! Had no idea I could get this kind of effect from a tea. Now I have a new body moisturizer!

There is nothing wrong with not rinsing it out of hair. I just never liked doing that or the results.
It makes a fantasic body moisturizer. I rinse it off though.
I wash my face it it. It is not completely removed when rinsed.
ETA: And I haven't needed hand cream for years. When I do the hair treatment, I use it on my hands and since I use it on my skin afterward (I keep some left over from the same batch, refridgerated between uses), it moisturizes my skin whenever needed, no timing required. It is the best thing for occasional razor burn on my legs. It stops the irritation immediately for me.

So, you pour it over your face or body and then rinse it off? Do you let it sit? What about a bath soak? I am interested I this because my skin gets so dry in the winter. TIA
Re: Catnip for split ends?
I apply catnip the same way and remove it differently as needed.
In the shower, I apply it to my hair by pouring into into one hand and applying it to sections of my hair. I wash my hair first.
After washing my body, while my hair is soaking for a bit before I turn off the water to let it soak more, I apply catnip to my legs and arms the same way and leave it on until I finally rinse it off from everywhere. This method is more recent. I used to apply a bit to my skin and wipe if off with a damp washcloth after my shower if needed.
I shower at night.
In the morning, I wash my face with catnip, applying it the same way, smoothing it on and rinsing right away. Because I am at the sink, I can rinse if off my arms and wipe it off my legs.
I have also used it remove my sunblock at night before showering.
ETA: I do a catnip hair (and body) treatment every time I wash my hair now, which on average is about once a week. I do the moring routine (other than my face and neck) every 2 days. I do not need to apply it to my arms and legs more often than that.
Almost forgot. My sensitive nether parts can get irritated by different liquid soaps/body washes. I have used catnip there too - instant relief.
