Re: Catnip for split ends?
Could I have had tangle issues because I diluted it too much? I steeped 1 tsp in 1 cup water. I normally rinse my hair with 1 - 2 Tbsps of vinegar in 4 cups water. So, I put the catnip tea in my big shower cup and added warm water when I was ready to rinse. I also added 1 tsp or so of honey which may have doinked me up?

I am not sure that I follow you on this.
Catnip is brewed - steeped in boiled water, until it cools, for the treatment in this thread, not warm water for a few minutes.
275 ml is more than 1 cup, depending on how you meaure.
And it is 1 level tsp cut and sifted catnip.
As for the honey, yes, it can cause dry ends and tangling if it leaves enough residue on the hair - that depends on the honey. Shampooing will remove honey residue.

I shampoo, condition, then catnip rinse. Sometimes I use catnip on days when I don't shampoo too.
Re: Catnip for split ends?
I did steep it. I then took my cooled, strained, refrigerated concoction into the shower with me where I mixed it with warm water.

Thank you for the clarification.
It could be honey residue that caused the problem.
Re: Catnip for split ends?
ktani: you are the best!! I love this too!!
I used about 1/2 cup of fresh from my garden leaves and flowers ( left to dry). I steeped it in 2 cups of water with a bit of fresh dried lavender ( also form my garden) for about 20 min-30 min. I took that mix, poured it into 1/2 gal. jug and filled that with softened water. After I shampooed with a poo bar. I poured about 1/2 cup through my hair. I only left it on for about 5 min.
I definitely will be trying the bagging method!! The results are so soft and lovely I am in love with my hair!!! I am definitely adding this to my routine.
Thank you! so MUCH!

You are most welcome.
I have no idea how you determined the recipe proportions but I am glad to read that you are so happy with the results.
Re: Catnip for split ends?
ktani: I took the way I have used herbs in the past but substituted the other herb with catnip, I get pretty good results so I thought why not just try the catnip instead. I plan on trying your method too.
Re: Catnip for split ends?
I think I'll play with the amount of catnip with mine too.
