Thanks WillO :)
Does anybody have any fun mini-milestones between SL and APL? I don't feel right describing myself as APL yet, but my hair is for sure longer than shoulder!

Just cut back to CBL from APL. I think (hope) I've got rid of all my heat damage, although I still have some dye on the ends. But it all feels soft and nice now, so I'm planning to grow for the rest of the year without trimming. I'm very pleased, as I've been dealing with this damage for a year and a half, so it's great to get rid of it. It does feel short though.
CBL can be such a cute look though, Kake! And I'd take quality over quantity any day.
I'm not sure how close I am to APL, it's hard to tell with my shrinkage but I can now touch my hemline by reaching up my back. It seemed like I was sitting at CBL for the last few months then boom, it feels longer. I'll have to get out my measuring shirt and try to get a picture of my hair stretched. Its always exciting to see visible proof that yes, its still growing:)
I've trimmed roughly every three months to even up the hemline and get rid of layers, bit by bit. I had a decent postpartum shed so I've trimmed off more than if I hadn't shed at all due to a taper that drove me nuts. :justy:. My ponytail circumference is bigger, my hair is shinier, and in the long run I'm glad I did it. Plus it felt AWESOME.
I can imagine how it would feel awesome ;).
Your method sounds great, just what your hair needs.
I'm just brushing shoulder length. It is actually shoulder length if I straighten my hair, but the waves and kinks in my hair make it look slightly shorter than it is which I hadn't noticed until I straightened my hair for a job interview. Which meant all my pent up frustrations that I wasn't getting to shoulder length where unneeded. Before I cut my hair to shoulder length and then a pixie I used to be at BSL, I'm aiming for waist length hair but APL is a great start. I cut my hair to a pixie in September 2015 and have grown it out with regular 8 week trims, though I missed my last one, to help keep its shape so I didn't have a mullet as it grew. My hairdresser only cuts the very ends off as she knows I'm growing it out, she keeps telling me to grows fast, but I'm not so sure. I'm hoping it won't take forever to get there.
