Come now, you have 1c hair listed in your profile: you do not need to straighten it to see the length. You could either check the length when your hair is sopping wet, or grab the middle, longest pieces, hold them taut with your one hand while you check the length. I like taking photos, I see the length better than from mirror.

I don't know when exactly this happened as there have been a lot of changes in my life but I've officially hit shoulder length. Looking forward to reaching APL in a year or so!

Today isn't a good day, people keep asking wtf happened to my hair :sad
It's in a bun but there are deep waves on top of my head with stray curly wavy hairs all over the damn place, plus my halo of curly baby hairs. EVERYONE noticed at work. Aren't messy hairstyles a thing?

Oh no, you committed the cardinal sin of not shellacking your strays and babies down with a styling product. /sarcasm
I am a member of the anti-slick hair brigade, so that attitude annoys me. Maybe you should wear it like that more often so they will get used to it (and hopefully shut up).
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm going to be in this group longer than I expected. My mom gets layer was a little past CB, but it was so thin and out of place compared to the thickness of the rest of my hair so I trimmed an inch off my length to create a solid hemline. So, when dry, my hair sits exactly on my shoulders.
However, my hair has been growing at about 3/4in a month. So the trim was worth it to me

I think I've finally *officially* hit shoulder over the holidays...I took a comparison photo since it's been 2 months since I chopped my hair off to start a healthy growth journey. It looks like I've got about an inch of new growth (also, it seems my layers grew out because everything is the same length now? ).

Oh, and today, I started taking a multivitamin + 5,000mg biotin.

Nice! Does your hair normally grow out layers naturally? Contrary to popular belief, not all of our hair grows at the same rate. My left side grows faster than my right. This month, the back and sides grew 0.5" but the top, nada.
Make sure you drink lots of water while taking the biotin to flush your system; it can cause pimples during the adjustment period.

The funny thing is I tried to calm my hair down with a little bit of hair wax (instant regret) and my hair was like NOPE. Then I spent a few minutes trying to get it out of my hair.
Today someone asked if I got caught in the rain because my hair looks so messy, it was "messier" yesterday though :rollin:

I'm actually not sure! I've never had layers before because I like having everything the same length haha.
And thanks for the tip! I'm actually exclusively breastfeeding my 4 month old, so I try to keep my water intake at around 50 or more ounces a day :)

Hello and welcome! Your hair looks lovely and I agree with you, it looks pretty much layer free to me and it looks very nice and healthy too.
