Come now, you have 1c hair listed in your profile: you do not need to straighten it to see the length. You could either check the length when your hair is sopping wet, or grab the middle, longest pieces, hold them taut with your one hand while you check the length. I like taking photos, I see the length better than from mirror.Quote:

It's in a bun but there are deep waves on top of my head with stray curly wavy hairs all over the damn place, plus my halo of curly baby hairs. EVERYONE noticed at work. Aren't messy hairstyles a thing?

I'm going to be in this group longer than I expected. My mom gets layer was a little past CB, but it was so thin and out of place compared to the thickness of the rest of my hair so I trimmed an inch off my length to create a solid hemline. So, when dry, my hair sits exactly on my shoulders.
However, my hair has been growing at about 3/4in a month. So the trim was worth it to me
I think I've finally *officially* hit shoulder over the holidays...I took a comparison photo since it's been 2 months since I chopped my hair off to start a healthy growth journey. It looks like I've got about an inch of new growth (also, it seems my layers grew out because everything is the same length now? :confused: ).

Nice! Does your hair normally grow out layers naturally? Contrary to popular belief, not all of our hair grows at the same rate. My left side grows faster than my right. This month, the back and sides grew 0.5" but the top, nada.Quote:
