Ugh, yes - remembering back to the 'can't put up' length was difficult, especially when you're like me and can't do a darn thing anyway (unlike little miss creative length faker WoolSweater ;D) It's okay short(er) hairs - it can be done :D

I'm not fazed by my layers, as it's usually in a ponytail for when I need it to look neater, or just left loose most of the time. :) Here's my progress after 18 months. Can't wait till it's longer and ready for braiding and half-ups! :D

Oh my goodness! That is amazing progress! Your hair looks lovely and super shiny and healthy too! I'm trying to be happier about my layers.
I do find that the longer my hair gets, the less I notice the layers. It used to seem like they were really big pieces missing, but now it seems like there's less of a difference between longest layer and shortest layer. It's probably because the ratio of overall hair length to shortest layer is improving :) I also have noticed that some of the really long hairs have long layers (sometimes 4-6 inches in difference between bottom and shortest layer) so I should probably just put it up and forget about it until it's a bit longer :)
Great progress, flemeister!
Flemeister is German for "hair grows like a weed"?
--Just teasing! What amazing growth!
Here's a tidbit... you can have a salon stylist/haircutter style your hair for sessions, much like tutoring or a drawing class. They will show you step-by-step how to do different up-dos while your hair grows out. They'll even use your own products if you ask. Yes, it costs some money, but these are up-dos that will help you for months down the road, so it's really not too bad!
Your hair looks so silky and shiny, Flemeister!
I think I know what's causing some of the breakage at least. I need to bring my satin pillowcase with me when I go to my boyfriends, considering all of the napping I do! My hair is a rat's nest every time I wake up when I fall asleep over there... I guess that's what I'm doing wrong!
