Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Measured last night.. 19.75 tooot toot :D
Hair last night after a SMT, it is still wet, but it gives a better visual because my hair tends to grow "out" not down..

It looks like its trying to fairytale.. does that mean I am reaching term? Or perhaps it is the curls I Dont know LOL
Also I am rather unimpressed at the "V"hemline.. I had no clue it was cut like that. (or grows like that) But at least I wear it up all the time so its not noticeable.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I agree, that's how bras are supposed to be worn. Another way to look at it is "below the breast", where the bra band should be measured.

....or your size is just hard to find. I searched long and hard and finally found some bras i like in my size (30e) but it was not easy.

Your avatar photo - is that your current length? I could do some sort of double twisted cinnabun when my hair was even shorter, and I have lots of really short layers. A lady on a market showed me when she sold me a bun cage made of soldered wire. Maybe that works for you as well? There are some bun cages made from wire and bended on Etsy that should be suitable, and they're not too difficult to make yourself I think.
The bun: Grab your hair and make a ponytail (no rubber band needed), split it in two and twist both at the same time, on with your left hand and one with your right hand. Then twist them around each other, and make a cinnabun type spiral on your head. Fix with bun cage or slide.
It took me a few days do figure out (it was my very first updo!) and worked for about a year until my hair grew out of the bun cage.

I do have a bun cage, bought it at the PA Ren Faire a few years ago. I'll have to take a couple days myself to practice this - I can get to the part where you twist them around each other, but there's not enough length left. When you split the hair, the two sections that you then have - are they right next to each other, or spaced a little bit apart on the back of the head? (Wow, my arms are starting to ache trying this - I'm such a spaz!)

The two sections are right next to each other, as close as possible. When I started to do this my hair wasn't even long enough to do one complete turn. So the challenge was to put the end of the tail in a position that would be covered and fixed by the buncage. It depends on the position you start to twist the two sections.
I noticed your hair volume is much bigger than mine. So perhaps learning is easier if you'd try half ups first? - Learning to do this took me about two weeks, with one week of aching arms. Can you imagine how proud I was when I finally made it? My very first updo :)!
There's still a lot of trouble with my layers, and it will stay for years. So I keep looking for possibilities to live with my layered hair and make the best of it since a cut isn't an option at all: A few months ago I realised that my messy buns look much better with vintage or oriental style hair toys. Simple, modern and plain toys make the same buns look like some sort of odd hedgehog ;).
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Ok, just tried it with the ponies closer together, and it kind of worked! :cheer: Forgot how much I loved that bun cage, it's light as a feather, doesn't give that feeling of having a brick tied to the back of your head. :D My hair is so UBER slippery, though, the sides started slipping out after just a couple minutes. Maybe with a little aloe gel and a little more practice, I can get it to hold all day! :cheese:
Definitely will work by hot weather time, though - that's when an updo is an absolute MUST! :) Thanks SOOOO much for sharing! :flower:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Wow! That was fast! :cheese: Congrats - I'm very happy I could provide some help :joy:. Do you think of posting an image?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
My hair is slippery and uncooperative with updos for at least 2 days after I wash it...crisdee, maybe you will have better luck with updos a few days later after you wash it?
