I should really try the twin braids, nothing would make me happier right now than being able to braid my hair.
I read about the caffeine rinses, how are they working out for you?

You should! They stay very well, and are comfortable.
I'm probably not the best person to ask about the caffeine rinses, since I'm very bad about remembering to measure my hair results. It certainly hasn't had any negative effects, and I know several members have reported extra growth. I'm going to continue doing them for now, and hopefully I'll see any effects in my next few length photos.
Hi everyone! :) Although it feels like my hair is growing really slowly, I have discovered that my longest layers are at shoulder. So I decided to sign up in this thread. I must have had some growth this month, because I remember being 1,5-2 cm away from shoulder in the beginning of the month. I'm also growing out dye, but it is blending quite well at the moment, I can't tell from that how much my hair has grown. Anyway, the parts that are at shoulder now are in the front. I'm growing out from a heavily layered bob. The back parts are quite short and it is quite challenging to put my hair up/braid it/make it look decent. Let's make it to APL!
Hello everyone!
I am joining you in this thread on my way to APL again. I chopped my middle back length hair to shoulder length in December, affected by the "lob addiction". After enjoying my new shorter length for a couple of months I've begun to really miss my long hair, which could have reached waist (my initial goal) by summer. This just makes me so sad.
Ok, rant over :)
I'm wishing all of you lots of patience and major hair growth!
Welcome to the thread ohdokey, tigress86, and phoepha!
I can now do an English braid with 95% of my hair in it! There are only 3 braid bumps BUT STILL!
My hair has reached shoulder length and apparently I really don't like shoulder length on me. All I want to do it right now is to cut. I see cute pixies everywhere and wonder if Im really supposed to have short hair. This time instead of cutting I came back here. :) I got online today to look for braid tutorials for shoulder length hair and they were all too long for me! I guess my hair is JUST skimming shoulder when dry.
I felt that way too! I almost made an appointment to get mine cut but my sister talked me out of it, we're both trying to grow out our hair so before we do anything we have to text each other so we can be told no haha! I couldn't get mine into any braids until I was a little past shoulder, I'm a little longer than CBL now and can only do french/dutch braids and they're still pretty puny. But we'll get to the point where we can do nice braids (soon hopefully)
Do you know how to french braid? You could do twin Dutch or French braids along the side of your head, and tuck them up or pin them along the back of your head. There's also the Gibson tuck, peacock twist, and half ups.
Also I believe there was a member here who made a post about many different hairstyles for shorter hair, but I can't find her now. Maybe she'll pop in here. :)
Edit: It's Arctic who has the styles page. I found it really helpful and recommend checking it out.
