I know, photos or it didn't happen. I intend to take some this weekend.
When DH took the photos this weekend, I realized that I'm not quite ready to call it APL. My longest hairs reach the towel, but I definitely don't have full coverage yet. Will check in at the end of this month.
I've been growing out my hair since the end of last May, when it was chin length. It will probably take exactly one year to get to APL.

That's very patient of you, oatmealpie. I think it's so easy to want to progress, and call it a certain length too early, then the next milestone takes ages! I definitely did that with shoulder length. At the end of the day it's just a description, the actual length of one's hair is the same.

On a positive note, we get to enjoy your company for a little while longer, oatmeal pie! :blossom:
I had my husband measure my hair again ( I am not obsessive, really, I'm not.) last night and I have an extra 1/4 inch of growth. On April 28th I was at 18 inches, so at least there is a little progress, the emphasis on "a little." :p
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I managed to do a good enough version of the Boho twist, but each photo I took was a fail. I needed to position my head and the camera at a specific angle, but it just. didn't. happen. :ponder:
So.....I put my hair in a very loose braid, tucked the tiny little tassle wannabe under and secured it with a small flexi 8. Very doable at shoulder length.

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
As of my measurement today, my hair is 19.5 inches long. It collarbone length of a grown out pixi, so the last 3 inches or so are layered.
But I was able to do this! And show off my olive wood Grahtoe mermaid. I still need one bobby pin to hold up the stragglers, I think that should be a thing of the past by July :happydance:

Congratulations on the updo and also the beautiful fork :thud:
luluj that updo was made for your texture! On me it just looks like a saggy mess, on you it's soft and lovely
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Oh my, Quasiquixotic that is such a lovely up-do!
Your gorgeous Grahtoe Mermaid is the perfect stick for the up-do, simply beautiful. Congratulations on being able to make it happen.:hollie:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Wow, luluj, that flexi of yours is a stunner... :thud: Is it a custom? I've never seen it before, but it looks very similar to my large https://secure.lillarose.biz/MemberT...atalogueID=204 flexi. :) (I hope the link works for you.)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Two_wheels and Luluj thank you!
Luluj I love your updo! It's so romantic and soft. And I love your color. I did henna once and decided I'm not going to again because I want to see my grays when they come in!

That's partly why I quit henndigo! That and the roots.... Ugh.... The roots! I only have one or two right now but looking at the lovely "renegrays" on here has made me much happier with the idea of staying natural when they multiply.
