Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm getting irritated with my hair lately. It's almost APL, but it curls up on the ends, making it look like it's barely past shoulder! In another few months, it will (hopefully) start weighing itself down so the length is visible, but for now it's irritating!!
Aside from that, I oiled my ends after I washed it last and it feels so smooth all the way to the ends! I've been forgetting to oil it, and forgot how much better it makes my hair look and feel! :D

Sometimes I feel like there aren't very many cute updos that I can do at this length, especially since I have some layers. But then today I found a blog called Hair Romance and WOW!
She has shorter than APL hair with layers near chin-length and can do lots of different beautiful updos. She even offers a e-book with tutorials. I'm excited to try some of these looks!

Just updated my profile pic. My hair IS growing, but it seems to be taking its time. :)

I know what you mean, on both counts! My frustration is with the sides of my hair, they're STILL too freakin short for any updo that doesn't start with a ponytail in an elastic. And I oiled my ends after I CO washed yesterday, which I have also been forgetting to do, and my hair looks and feels much better as well - but of course it didn't add any length to the sides. :D

She does some great styles! They look really pretty. I wish I was more updo inedpt as I think they look really good, especially since it's short hair you wouldn't guess. I think my short layers would stop most of these from working though. I often just clip my hair back and all my short layers fall forward so it looks like I still have the a-line bob I spent most of last year growing out :p

What a great site! There were some very pretty updos in there. I'm going to try without buying though ;)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I am new to LHC but have been trying to grow out my neck length hair from 2010. It is now 18" which is a little below shoulder length for me. (My hair has always grown very slow and is thin and fine). My hair was seriously damaged from non-stop perms for years so I am learning to let it go and let it grow. Thanks to everyone for all the information that is posted. I have been reading it for months now and trying a little bit at a time. My hair is pretty healthy now and I am enjoying the feel of it! :) I have used black tea and cinnamon rinses, coconut oil, co, and EVOO with rosemary and lavendar EO. I take a prenatal vitamen and a hair, skin and nails supplement. It seems like it is slow growth so any slow growers out there that have suggestions I am all ears!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've been trying to grow out my shoulder length hair for about 1.5 yrs now, and its stayed the same length since I've been cutting it to get rid of all the damage and layers. I'm in the same rut where the sides are shorter than the back, so I didnt think I could pull it all back...until now! I'm gonna check out that link. Thanks for it!

I wouldn't buy, except I'm such a newbie at styling my hair and looking finished... I really need all the help I can get. :)
