Longlegs, I found my APL by taking a picture only wearing a bra. I also have moles on my back in APL level , so it made measuring easier.
Someone suggested finding APL while one arm is stretched or lifted. For me that has sense, too, but I didn't do that yet. I always forget. Maybe next time when I measure monthly progress.
In shirt, my APL seem lower. And with towel even more
Laura1986, Begemot, my goal is also WL. Next year this time we'll be very close to those goals. Not bad! I would be very happy with BSL, too :D
I agree that bobs are a nice length to return back to is hair is somehow upsetting, but I am not sure if I understand you correctly here. Do you assume that when you go grey with long hair, that the new growth will be mostly grey while your naural color dominates the length?
What is your starting point to measure hair length? Crown? Hairline on forehead or in the nape of the neck?
I think next year this time I have reached solid APL, on my way to BSL. My upper body is quite long and with wavy/wurly texture I forsee some shrinkage.
Also my ends tend to dry out /split quite easily (I hope not as much now I found oils and are a bit more carefull).
So I think waist maybe in 2-3 years, if at all?
Congrats Wusel!
raemarthe your hair is so beautifull! Those curls seem so well-behaved and the colour/shine looks healthy and alive.
Knittink your hair looks so healthy and well taken care of. I like the waves. Do you see a big difference with/wthout DevaCurl Wave Maker (I think you meant this? I googled it because I had no clue what it was)?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you everyone, you guys are so sweet!
Before I came to LHC I always thought I just had frizzy, messy, hard to deal with hair. I have never liked my hair because I always thought (was told) it looked bad so I kept it short because heat was the only thing that would help it look nice . My hair is fragile so it was always full of splits and dots back then. Now I realize that I have waves and I am trying to learn to style them. I think the Wave Maker is a good start, as well as less handling while it is drying. I have learned a lot here and any other suggestions are welcome.

Hmm..Maybe I'm an optimist. Time will show. Let's say that in next 12 months I can count on 15cm of growth. If I split that in two pieces, I'm reaching APL in the beginning of December this year. And then, I have next 6 months to reach BSL by the end of June 2020. Isnt' that close to WL?? To me, from this point of view it is very close to WL, believe me, haha
I forgot to say, that I don't plan to cut my hair. I really hope that one tiny trim of 1cm in January would be enough to make my hemline decent. I have some strands that are dry and frizzy, but I'm not going to cut all my hair because of that. I still can't decide am I going to do a blunt 1cm trim, or U shape or a bit layered. It all depends on those dry parts how are they going to behave in January. I say, maybe I'm too optimistic, but when I look at someone having BSL , to me it looks really close to WL. Please, don't break my illusions :)
Yes, my starting point for measuring is hairline on forehead.
About going gray. Now I'm not sure if I understood you. I assume that as much as time goes, and how hair is replaced with new ones, the chance for the new ones to be gray are bigger and bigger. I don't know what is the life cycle of my hair. Maybe now I get only greys? Maybe those in my natural colour are very old that soon are all going to be replaced with gray? If it is so, then root might look much whiter then the rest (long) hair. I already have one strand with whites, that isn't long, but is much thicker and visible near root. From that place, only white ones are growing.

Agava, as long as your hair feels good. Some hair just likes more product :) Balancing moisture and protein can be tricky (especially when you have dye/bleach) but you'll figure it out through experimenting. You can read reviews of the products you use and read more about the ingredients (paste inci lists here
http://www.cosdna.com/eng/ingredients.php) so you know what you are using. I'm trying to dial down my experimenting and product buying but it kind of helps my hair mood while I'm waiting for my hair to grow lol.
Thanks for this link. I must find reviews for my favourite products.
In the past I didn't pay attention to ingredients, because there were one or two product that I used, few times per month and my hair looked good. But now, because of last year's bleach, I started with hoarding all kind of products for this and that, and I have impression that the more I use, the more I need. This morning after I washed, combed my hair (went to work with wet hair without any frizz tamer, shine booster or so...), And when I get there, my ends looked abnormally frizzy, like never before. I really start to think that it isn't only a bleach that made my hair frizzier, but also these styling products that are full of alcohol. It's 10 months of constant, everyday use. I'll check these days the website you shared , thanks once again!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
You're welcome, Agava! Good luck with figuring out the frizz and what products work for your hair best
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm still far away from APL - it's hard to measure it, but it's over 2 inches = at least 4 months (when my hair is straightened) but I'd say I'll be at APL by the end of this year if I'm lucky!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi guys! :) I've been gone from LHC a couple of years but now I'm back and guess what? Growing again :D I ended up cutting my hair from almost classic to shoulder length and here we go again. Not sure where. I have to take a new length photo. I have three pics in my profile but they are old, maybe from 2016 or 2017..? Glad to see some familiar names and also a lots of new!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Welcome back, Marika! :) :blossom:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just cut my hair from APL to CB length.
:'( stupidest thing I've done for my hair in awhile. I'm thinking I'm gonna grow my bangs out with my actual length now too.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Welcome JEMTheNerd, sorry to hear you are so unhappy :( It's a great opportunity to grow bang out though!
