When it's shoulder to APL it starts sitting on the back and the feeling of it touching my back makes me feel like it's long again. :)

Exactly! Finally feels like you are getting somewhere :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I "unofficially" joined this thread when I first joined LHC beginning of May, I didn't think I would stay here long, but it seems I still have about another month - maybe two, to go. I WAS measuring stretched, but switched to measuring my waves natural which set me back another inch. I've been growing out from shoulder for about 6 months now.

Previously I had to convince myself to wear it up lol. Now it's best to keep it up and out of sight so I won't suddenly feel like cutting it back to SL or shorter. No quick solution this time, I'm going to power through the APL territory. I'll probably feel a little better after summer. In the mean time I'll just wear it up and whine here
What is your feel-good hairlength? What was your reason for cutting?
(I am asking for a friend who doesn't know if she has it in her to grow past APL..)

But when you measure your hair in waves... isn't it too inaccurate? I mean, because waves fall different always and for me it makes a difference of 2 inches. When I comb out all waves after washing my hair and measure it straight it's quite a difference. And the length is always different, depending on the products, weather... when it's humid outside my hair shrinks... That's why I measure with waves stretched.

I like my hair when it's either short (above SL) or properly long (past BSL). When I joined TLHC I was growing out dye and heat damage while growing longer. I fell off the long hair care wagon after I achieved my goals (virgin WL hair) and didn't take very good care of my hair. I cut to SL last year because long hair didn't seem very important, I needed a change and I had bleach damage.
How about you? :)

I usually just measure freshly washed, air dried hair with no product in it. If I add gel and diffuse to REALLY bring out my waves my hair sits just a couple inches past shoulder, that's the only times I see a big length difference.

Anyone can have short hair but long pretty hair takes time and patience. Your hair is already so pretty, it will look so very pretty the longer it gets :)
I have the feeling that I'll be wearing my hair up all summer...
No, it isn't that I'm truly worried about something. It's about having a chance to have long hair my natural colour before it gets gray.
