Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hello, all. I first joined around 2013, but I’m super picky about condition and didn’t get very far before cutting it off...APL. I know now that I have trichorrhexis nodosa, and I won’t be too hard on myself about condition this time around. I’m thinking that BSL would be ideal. I don’t have any grand goals, because I prefer my hair looking styled and get cut happy. I wish that I could go between short and long easily, lol. Anyhow, it’s almost at APL now, the back layers probably are there now. I will post some pictures later.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
(I believe friction while sleeping contributes, since my sides are the worst with the ‘white dots’ and breakage. Although, I think nutrition plays a role too. I think that it could be genetic, however. My biological mom doesn’t have the best hair either and one of half sisters had issues with alopecia. Although, my other half sister has great hair (condition & length). Who knows.

That means I’m officially at APL :) I was going to wait to post until I’d taken a photo but I’m not sure when that will be, and I’m too excited to wait! Plus I just recently posted some and it probably won’t look any different
Can’t wait to see you all over in the next thread! I hope you don’t mind me checking in here now and again to see how you’re all doing :)
We will miss you, Simpscone. Please do stop by and check on us.:blossom:

Welcome, CosmoCat.:flower:
I am a picky hair person, too. This is a good thing!:o
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
CosmoCat I have sections of my hair that break off no matter how nice I am to them, and like you, that has stopped me from gaining length in the past.
I recognise now that the bulk of my hair is in good condition so I try to ignore the rubbish bits. They’re at the front and sides, and the nape. Face framing bits help with the worst offenders (just cut them away) and lots of oil helps with the rest.
Welcome to the thread :)

Thank, luluj and Lady Stardust!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Cosmo Cat (love the name by the way) that's interesting because my side's have broken the most and I'm a side sleeper who tosses and turns ALL night.
How should I have my hair when sleeping, I just leave it out mostly but might have to start plaiting it.

I think we are very close in length, so we may each get a wonderful Christmas gift. Here's hoping.
Hi luluj! Thank you so much! Yes that is my hair and it is natural silvery whitish. When I ask people they say white. Haha 🤷🏼 I figure whatever it is it’s uniquely me! I grew out my natural color a couple years ago when I wore a pixie. It was quick and simple process back then. Now I’ve decided to grow my curls and see how long I can stand it! This is as long as it’s ever been. Can’t wait to see how we do when it gets to APL! It’s fun having a growing buddy. Happy growing. Are you able to put yours up any?

You are very welcome, Vacurlylady. Your color and curls are enviable, indeed. I agree that it is silvery white, so, so, pretty! I think it will look awesome at APL.
We have the pixie in common. I cut my hair into a pixie in 2008 to get rid of the hair dye and I have not looked back.
I'm a curly, too and I am also silvering. The longest I have been is a bit beyond BSL and I found that quite manageable. Waist would be a dream goal! I agree, it is fun to have a growing buddy with so much in common.
I last measured at 18 inches, so APL is a ways away, yet. However, I am able to put it up, luckily.
