Thank you :)
It is on the fine side, but i have a lot of volume, especially with my waves, so it always looks thicker than it actually is. If i straightened my hair, it would lose Half it's visual thickness. :)
I don't know about my hair type. I think it's becoming more and more on the 2b side, but i will let it grow out more before i decide to change it or not. :)
I am thinking now that with my growth rate by january my hair should have covered half the distance to APL... too bad i have a trim planned in january hahaha.

I think I will get to similar length by the end of this year. I want to do a micro trim in the end of October.

Your hair is beautiful by the way. I love the color. :)
Did you use Henna?

Yes, it’s henna . My natural colour is medium brown.
I will be cutting maybe half inch. I’m trying to get rid of layers ;)

I also have them and they're really annoying. Now they start from my ears down and it looks like my hemline is very sparse, it sometimes looks like i have No hair in a few spots. Can't wait for the thickness to travel down..
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've always had my hair cut in layers (because it looked better for my face shape, they said), but I find it so frustrating when doing braids and other hairstyles! Good luck growing out yours.

Shoulder to APL is my longest growing distance.
Hi ReadingRenee, It seems that we are in the same dilemma.. curly hair at nape /shoulder length. I was at TBL but due to a lot of breakage during detangling, I eventually chopped to chin/collarbone length when dry. :( This was back in Nov. 2016 so I am very, very depressed about this since the uneven length keeps driving me nuts so I am trimming off any new growth. I stupidly just did the compact cut with the length that did reach up into the pony tail on my forehead to try to create some style without going into the hair salon... I am just venting here.... I finally gave my good hair cutting shears to my hubby to hide for me... Anyways, I am at about the same length as you are in your siggy pic.. Cheers! Good to know we are not alone growing through this! :)

Thank you! That is true, shoulder to APL is definitely when people start to notice your hair is growing longer. I feel like APL to BSL people barely notice on me, which makes it a harder length sometimes to keep on growing with.

Hi LongCurlyTress! I remember you when you had TBL hair and when you cut it. It is so tempting to keep cutting it! I have been pondering the compact cut for layers too even though I KNOW that layers in the long run don't work for growing MY hair. Take heart though, I keep seeing how the blunt all one length curly bob is "in" right now. This is the only time I have ever been remotely in style with my home hair cut, so I am enjoying it. It is hard to grow out that curl when it keeps shrinking up but it keeps getting longer, even if you can' t see it. (That is what I tell myself anyway. :) ) Glad to have some people to grow with! I keep getting tempted to make another chop. I think its this length, it can be hard.

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I feel like I’m sooooooo close... but then it looks longer in the mirror than it does in photos (probably difference in angle). Still, I’m about an inch and a half or so away, should be there by the end of the year. I just did a little microtrim, mostly to the top layer where the ends are still bleached, but I did take a little off the bottom/sides. It’s still short enough that self trimming is difficult but I don’t need to mess with it any more this year. I’m really close to climbing out of this awkward length (for me it is awkward, looks good down but really hard to put it up).
Length photo time~ Lol at the frizz only being visible on the lighted side. My hair is only 90% dry and the frizz will settle down once it is totally dried (but some of it is still from the bleach broken ends/regrowth at ththe line of demarcation. Finally trimming that out in the future will be a huge deal for me)
