Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
sillage~ I just bought the Done Nourishing oil yesterday and tried it this morning as I was washing out my Cassia treatment. Let me know how you like it. I didn't find it moisturizing enough, but my hair is very thick and dry right now.
and I'll take the gold star :D This was my first time doing a cassia treatment. I mixed it with water until it was a yogurt like consistency then slapped it on my head. I received very strange looks from the husband when he saw me in the morning, lol. I liked it. It definitely left my hair with more slip and shine.
I was very bad today and flat ironed my hair. I've been so good with no heat, but I must say I am not liking my hair. It feels unruly and unkempt because of the bleach damage. Sigh. I can say bleach will never touch my hair again.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
As treatment Tuesday was a bit busy, I ended up with the very last bit of a Gliss Kur hair mask. My girls wanted to use the empty jar for their beauty shop :) and I want to get rid of all my old products before I buy anything new...
Afterwards I put some coconut oil in my hair and now it's very soft and wavy. Like it.
About the trims, I don't know. I had my last trim on July 1st, and sometimes I think I can go on for a while, sometimes I feel like trimming about 2cm. In the end, I never do it
I have layers in my hair, but with my thick wavy underlayers and straight canopy, I need it. Actually, when I reach BSL, I'd like to add some more layers...
I guess the bottom layers have reached APL, and the top one is just below my shoulder. I'll stick around here for a while before moving to the next level, just to grow out that top layer...
It's been a lot more fun here lately, and that motivates me to take the time to look after my hair...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Lissandria, your bun looks great. I love the colour of your hair!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've hit a new milestone: I can put my hair into a small braid! :) There are only a couple of overlapping bits, but it's definitely closer to my old length compared to my cut.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Congrats, papillon! :)
To update Treatment Tuesday: since I struck out on finding aloe vera for the SMT, I went rummaging around in the back of the Scary Closet of Doom (also known as my bathroom cabinet :P ) and managed to find a hair mask that I bought last summer back in Italy. After reading the label, I realized that it's cone free! :cheese:(Garnier Ultra Dolce Cacao e Olio di Coco, here's the link: http://www.garnier.it/_it/_it/our_products/product-struct.aspx?tpcode=OUR_PRODUCTS^PRD_HAIRCARE^ULTRA _NATURALS^ULTRA_NATURALS_DISCOVER^ULTRA_NATURALS_C OCOA^ULTRA_NATURALS_COCOA_RTN3&prdcode=P42067 )
I'm so happy that I have this! I love it! And it has coconut oil in it, as well as cocoa butter :D
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
It's so great to see all the milestones being met! I love seeing the pics of new hairdos. :)
I'm a little worried, I am going to have my first trim since before Christmas tomorrow. I am currently about an inch away from APL and really really hoping she will just even up the ends and leave me with most of my length. She is a long hair too but I've never been to her before so I'm a little nervous. I'm sure I will have dreams tonight about having my hair cut back to shoulder length tomorrow instead of just a tiny trim.

Good luck tomorrow!
As for my Treatment Tuesday, I just used my Phyto hair mask again :D I love that stuff.

Currently I use a body oil, which has Castor Oil on 2nd position. But I plan to buy it to make my own mixture.
Here in Germany you can buy it in the pharmacy or in some online shops that sell single ingredients.
I plan to mix it with burdock root oil, as castor oil is pretty thick and sticky. And Burdock root is said to strengthen the hair and prevent hair loss.
Also I'm doing every 1-2 months a microtrim. I just trim 2-3mm so my hair is still "growing". The greatest advantages for me is that my ends get less stuck and somehow I get a thicker hemline. But this is I think a greater advantage for straight hair.

I use this body oil every 2-3 days as in my curly hair it doesn't really look oily... I can't tell if it has an advantage on growth, but I have the feeling, that if I use it on the body I have to shave my legs more often. :D That's why I discontinued to use it as a body oil... :D

But mine was an organic version that was a bit more pricey. They don't seem to have it listed at the moment- Im not sure why that is, but I sincerely hope they haven't discontinued it.
ETA:I have only used the Neeli Oil once, overnight pre-wash on Monday night- with good result. I shed about 20 hairs in the shower, compared to my normal small animal sized shed. I have always been a big shedder, it would be great to finally thicken up my ponytail.
Thanks! That's also prefering the organic version. I will see, that I order it as soon it is available again. :)
BTW: I like the bun with the flexi8. It looks lovely!

Hahaha LOL. If it works on your leg hair, Im sure it will work on your scalp hair! I hope so!
Yeah so glad I got the organic version, its definitely the way to go. Hope it becomes available soon for you.
Thank you so much for the compliment :flower:

:D I will continue using it as it has so far no disadvantage on my scalp or hair...
I will rotate it with neeli oil as soon I have it. :cheese:
