Why does it seem to be an eternity between these two milestones?! Seems like it will take me years to grow from collarbone to armpit. Anyone else feel that way?

Thank you so much ynne! I also thought about measuring both stretched and curly but decided it was simpler and more accurate to measure just my longer layers stretched (and because I'm lazy lol)
That makes sense! It's the more important measurement, I think, since it's consistent, yeah. :)
Honestly! Chin to shoulder felt a lot faster than collarbone to APL. Does it only feel more slow from there?

I posted this in the seasonal thread already, but the longer curled layers are really trying to reach there:
Don't mind the blank space, the curls tend to clump and curl up randomly and so sometimes, the shorter layers are visible instead; I can't wait to have less layered haircut and to be truly done growing out my undercut! Maybe I'll do the trim when I reach APL? Or maybe when the short layers reach APL? I don't know if I want to wait that long ...
ynne, those ringlets are so pretty!! I think you are definitively brushing APL, even with fully curly hair :D
I'd prefer to trim back when all the hair catches up, unless there's substantial damage... But that's just me ;)
SleepyTangles, thank you! They haven't been behaving well recently as I adjust to dealing with the extra length, so any compliment means a lot. :) (I only like the random ones that give up on gravity and their ends curl up, like the one on the very left.)
As for the damage, I don't know how to recognize breakage on trimmed ends, but the splits seem minimal, so it may not be necessary, it's just an issue of patience :D
She says thank you! :o
I'm so close to shoulder I can... Taste it!?! Ahaha. You know what I mean...
I feel like if a stranger was describing me to the cops they might say that I have shoulder length hair,
But I just can't call it until I feel my ends brushing on what I consider my actual shoulders.
feels like years before I'm going to reach shoulder! I'm still waiting for bottom of neck on my long side and that's like 3-4 inches away I should be officially in this thread by jan if all goes well
