Thanks! Yeah, my hair type in my profile is based on longer length after washing and air-drying without touching. However, my wurls don't take too much convincing to turn almost straight when being put in an updo or finger combed while drying.

Omg! I can't wait either! What do you plan to do once you reach APL? Do you plan to stay here until you reach a solid APL? Or move on to the APL to BSL thread? For me, I have mixed feelings about this. I don't know if I should wait until my bangs reach APL or if it is right to move on to the next thread once the back hairs touches APL. I know that there are some people staying here that have APL because they want to grow out layers to fully claim APL. What do you think?:confused:

I plan to chop off ~1" of damage :( I'll be here a while yet!
ETA: I guess it's not so bad, it'll even out my layers a bit I suppose, and I'll have to do that eventually. Yay for silver linings!

Ok here is my length update (I do believe it is my first contribution). I didn't use a towel but I did draw a line to mark APL. It's not my best hair day ever but here it is, about two inches away from APL.

As far as giving you measurements, well, I'm bad at math. Honestly, I think with this pic compared to all the other pics, it's a big spurt of growth! Could it be the rooibus tea? Plus I noticed that the trims you've been making is paying off! Plus I love your hair color, I like the mixtures! I know you are trying to get back to your natural color, but I think you have a style going on!:eyebrows: ;)

Gosh I still remember when we first met in this thread, and then we did our first towel test feeling like everyone had hair to APL except for the both of us. :D. Awww so much progress in such a short amount of time!:)

Okay, so still no warm water, and I washed my hair in icecold water, brrrr. Once I got used to it, it wasn't so bad actually, but I feel like it didn't rinse so well...

Since I don't have time to let my hair dry completely before going to work, I took a picture with the complete "natural" look, my newfound wurls...

I hope it's the tea! a few days ago, I got a jug of aloe juice, and I've added it to my tea. So. Freakin'. Soft. :D I'm glad my hair looks like somewhat of a style. I've been feeling like it's just a shapeless curtain lately :p
I haven't made a trim in over two months, when I trimmed off the little rat tail I was getting. What you talkin' bout, rowie?! :confused:
I did just get a pair of hair scissors for when I get to APL and can happily snip off this damage. :cheese:

Alright, so I was itching to try out my new scissors...
I sucked it up, and chose health over length. I put my hair in a ponytail and felt for and snipped out the nastier bits. I actually didn't lose any length! :cheese: My hair feels soooo much better, and my hemline actually looks a little thicker because the ends aren't sticking together anymore. :D

I think that shoulder to APL is another transition phase, because when you get to shoulder, you feel that you are right around the corner to your hair finally reaching your back and being long. I know once I reach that stage, I will think that way, but it still is probably about 5-6 inches before it reaches APL (approx 10 months)

Omg, I'm glad it sounds like it went alright. I agree with you, it's better to do it now then later! I think I was confused because it might of been a while back that you had mentioned trimming so I had guessed you were doing micro trims along the way to even up your hemline, because the picture you just showed looks like the layers are becoming less and heading towards the blunt look.:D

Oooh too bad I can't try aloe since i'm kinda allergic to it (it makes my skin turn red). :( I'll definitely get some rooibus when I go to the grocery. Well, it's off to bed for me! Hopefully we'll see Daniverde's result tomorrow. Nighty night!

Nope. I just have A LOT of fairly thick hair :p
Too bad about the aloe :( I don't think it does anything to encourage growth, and rooibos makes my hair super soft on its own. Goodnight! :)

Thank you! *big smile* Yes I am in this thread still and again because I chopped off all my layers in November 2011 (I lost about 10 inches total). I would have been at waist length by now if I hadn't done that, but I really love my new hemline so the sacrifice was worth it (especially the neat looking braids).

I definitely see at least one inch of growth, congrats. Rooibos teas worked for me too but be careful because it can mess with your period.

You're not the only on with that problem (Problem with uploading pictures thread). And you can always use photobucket or flickr or something like that to post photos on threads if you want to share. :D

My first post at LHC! Anyways, here is my towel test. Anyways, my hair is super thick and wavy. I know the ends look terrible, but I wear my hair up practically everyday so it doesn't really matter to me at this point. :)

I swear, my hair grows slower than anyone I know. I got a short bob (above chin length) two years ago and this is how much it's grown (I've only had two little trims since). I'm hoping that my growth rate was from straightening and not taking care of my hair, not genetics. I'm taking biotin, folic acid and doing MN treatments, so I guess we will see soon!

Awesome results! I am with you on wearing hair up. I've been playing around with toys and experimenting ways to wear hair up. Maybe we can share some ideas later on. I'll try to post a technique i've been playing around with soon as the towel test is over or when this thread gets slow again. :D

The only time my hair loosens up is when I use cones. I sometimes use Pantene when I want to control my hair on really humid days. :p

Whenever you feel ready ravenheather! Or you can wait for more growth and shoot for our next towel test, which I believe is the first Thursday of June. I can't wait to see your custom fork. Kimi is so fun to work with! :D I've also been thinking about holly material, but I think I'll wait and order it as a milestone present once I reach APL. I also bought the BE Maple Antler forks in addition to my custom fork. How long does her shipping take, or how long did it take you to receive your first fork? It looks like she sent mine via USPS.

I'm on the pill, and I take it in a way that gives me a period ~every 3 months. I don't worry too much about the rooibos screwing me up any more than that :p
