I think you're definitely APL! :)

I've reached APL superstretched. I'm not gonna call it APL until I'm there unstretched though. Will be another 6-8 months I think. :(

Whoa, that picture's creepy.
Definitely APL march_sun, congrats!
MaryMarx - a nice mini milestone all the same though :)
I'd say that both of you are APL but than again I know that stretched vs non stretched can be very different. I am going to use stretched for my body marks just because one day it will look like it is almost APL then the next because of shrinkage I'll look like I am only shoulder length. My hair has a mind of its own. I do not have any interest in fighting it more then I have to but I have to be able to progress or I'll get frustrated.
Congrats March_Sun and MaryMarx too!
So far I've decided to mark my growth as unstretched only because I never straighten my hair. I've had to resign myself to the fact that I will be in this thread a long, long time. But at least I am in good company! :)
I don't flat iron or use any heat on my hair either. I just have length related anxiety. My mom seems to have hit terminal at 29 inches, granted she blowdries and uses sulfates and has way fine hair but I have never been past BSL. I am learning a lot here and I am shorter then my mom so 29 inches would be waist/hip on me but still. I don't know if I would ever even be able to call myself BSL let alone waist or hip of I don't go with stretched. My dad has always had short hair along with everyone else on that side of the family so I have nothing to compair with over there.
Using your stretched rate and seeing your progress to keep from getting frustrated makes perfect sense to me, SerinaDaith!
Good to know that my crazy isn't taking me over ;-)
Just chiming in with sympathy for the Curlyheads. Dear Sister has a glorious head of dark curls, but they sure eat up the length! On the upside: Her hair always looks super thick, and her highlights only need retouched a few times a year. My hair looks thinner--probably because it lays flatter--, and I need to henna my roots every month, or my gray is out and exposed to the world! Hang in there, Curlies. Your hair looks great, IMHO.
Aw, thanks for the support browneyedsusan! :smooch:
There are ups and downs to every hairtype, I think. Dealing with frizz and shrinkage can be challenging, but for the most part I like having curly hair (gosh, wouldn't my younger self be shocked!)
