First, start up high on the head, then only wrap one finger.
Finally, OMIT the thumb wrap! just have the hair go right under the first loop. I have been doing it this way for two months. I just saw Bene's LWB video and realized that I was doing it "wrong." But it still worked! I am now able to do it with the thumb wrap, but that step is not necessary IMO.
Let me know how it turns out.
AWESOME FRENCH BRAID by the way!
INTERESTING! I'll try this immediately!

My hair stalled just at the brushing shoulder stage, I haven't had any growth since mid July. It is so frustrating! Hang in there! It'll start up again eventually!;)

I feel the same way. I feel like my hair is looking SHORTER some days. I think this is a good time of year to start forgetting about it and come the holidays maybe it will have grown :eye:

We are going to experiment to see if maybe it's just the shampoo or just the conditioner rather than both. Fingers crossed the conditioner turns out to be ok.
Would it help washing upside down? or is it also 'residue' in your hair that is contributing to the acne?
I hope you figure out which is causing it - I hate when I find a great product, but it causes a problem elsewhere.

Strangely enough my scalp is fine  I can't wash upside down because I get insane tangles. I've worked out a plan though....
I've switched back to a SLS shampoo that I know is ok for my hair (yes eventually it will give me eczema but not for a while and hopefully I'll have moved on to something else by then). Meanwhile I am using my lovely conditioners one at a time. I'll give each one up to a month of use before deciding whether or not they are contributing to the acne. I'll be taking photos too so I can compare how my skin has changed. I need to give it a month at least as I do get hormonal spots at a certain point in my cycle. I also have a shampoo I need to test but I'll wait until I've identified a "safe" conditioner as I only want to change one thing at a time.
Actually that's not entirely true, I have changed some skincare in the last few months so I'm changing back to my tried and tested products to rule skincare products out too (I only changed in the first place because I wanted something with a bit more anti-aging "clout"). I'm fairly confident it's the shampoo and/or conditioner as H has had the acne too but doesn't use the same skincare products as me. We will see though. For now at least my hair feels like hair again (yay!) and my skin is looking a lot clearer, let's hope it stays that way.
Oh and thank you everyone for listening, I knew you'd all understand :flowers:

Hello! just though I'd check back in after a while. I wasn't doing so well in my new job, which was really soul destroying, so I kinda retreated from the internet for a while. My hair, meanwhile, happily kept growing! It's now too late (23:36 here) for me to take a proper picture, but soon!:) I can definitely do a "ballerina bun" high on my head now without stray hair from the formerly shaved part of my bob falling out of it!

Congrats on the bun-ney! :beerchug:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Yay! I've noticed this week that my hair has finally reached shoulder length!
I still haven't forgiven myself for cutting it all off. It's taken from November until now to grow from chin to shoulder, so I had no growth for a few months.
I'm growing out dark hair dye too. Once I reach APL I'll maintain it a bit to get it back to my natural colour.
Here's to growing! :beerchug:

I'm starting again as well. And am regretting it. Here's to fast growth :)
