Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
is APL when it reaches your armpit in the front, or the back? I'm a little past shoulder length now. I might be APL if my hair is straight and I'm looking at the ceiling, does that count? ;)
I haven't measured my hair yet but I plan to measure monthly, starting on Saturday.

Note to self - never ever do layers again! :brickwall
I'm so close too :D and I feel you with the layers.

Everyone measures differently--as long as you pick a method and do it consistently. I'm already at apl in the back, but I'm sticking around until Halloween because I want to be at apl in front and back.

I didn't start measuring until June, and then I was just over an inch away. My growth rate is about .75 per month.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Urgh, my hair is driving me crazy. I found a shampoo and condish that it loved but they gave me acne. I've switched to a (so far) non-acne making shampoo/condish and now my hair is rough, dry and splitting like crazy. I can't really blame it,the damage in the bottom 3-4" is horrific (and totally my own fault) but I'm starting to realise that I'm going to have to start cutting a bit more off and it's somewhat disappointing to push my APL date back even further, probably to next summer now :(

Can you use the shampoo and conditioner that you love and just keep your hair back?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
To me my hair looks APL in the back but I'm not going to call it until I look at in on Halloween or something, then maybe I'll trim a little bit to make my ends less sad feeling. I wanna be BSL for when I turn 21 that's what matters to me :D

I've tried but it's impossible to keep it off my hairline and from running down my back :( H has developed terrible acne from it too and he has short hair.
We are going to experiment to see if maybe it's just the shampoo or just the conditioner rather than both. Fingers crossed the conditioner turns out to be ok.

Good luck!:D I know it is really hard when you find something that works for your hair but doesn't for the rest of you. If it helps my skin has gotten less fickle as I have gotten older.
