Welcome, hang out with us for a while. Congrats on your first fork. YouTube helped me understand how to use mine. We can give you advice, too.

[QUOTE=ravenheather;2232643]Is that the pha bun? I can't get that to work yet.
Thanks bunnysaur.
It's not a Pha bun I can't seem to do those. It's that up&down twist from the flexi 8 styling vids, but I pull some hair up towards the top of the fork and smooth it over.
However do you do your fork wrap bun? I just can't seem to get mine to stay...
I can't do that either at all. This is a twist that I do, like a peacock twist with a loop at the top. I stick the fork in this loop at the top. Then I pull some hair up from the twist to cover up the loop a bit. You can see the little ends sticking out the side. I can instruct you further if you need.
Checking back in! I'm not measuring my hair (including stretching my curls) until October. Trying to forget about it and not worry about length everyday, but I should be at apl by then!
I'm not sure what tips to give about the fork tuck bun. I think it's mostly a matter of what tension. It is easy to get it too loose or too tight. Also I hold onto my ends with one finger until I flip the fork and start pushing it into the scalp hair.
I'm going to try your up and down fork twist. I love how that looks.
It's easy, but you have the french twist look kicking from the side, instead of the closed off look of a bun, if that makes any sense. I will keep trying the fork tuck until I get it, too.
I braided my hair before work last night and finally took it out just this morning... my hair is straight... >:( .... whatever.
WhAAAAt! That's just not right, doesn't make sense. The hair gods are suddenly frowning upon you, what have you done to incur their wrath?
I'm upset, but my hair really is that resilient to waves or curls. I hope this won't be an ongoing problem in the future if I ever achieve long hair because I plan to wear it to bed each night so that I will have curls every day...
