I can't braid. I don't know how. Let me whine about it a little.

Can anyone give any tips on how to get good at it, besides the obvious (practice).

come hang out with me for a day. we'll do a braiding clinic! (I'm not all that good, but the pressure will inspire me to become so. :D)

I really only improve when I watch a youtube tutorial then pratice the braid over and over again. Sometimes it takes me two or three days of praticing the braid for over an hour each day to get my fingers to do it naturally.

I can braid decently, I just can't make it stay with my hair the way it is.
The other day, I was in bed with DF and he was resting his head on my chest. I managed to give him a pretty decent looking crown braid before he noticed what was going on. I only made it a few inches, but it was looking pretty great!

Hello! I'm beginning my long hair journey. It's so frustrating! I'm hoping to get to APL by the end of the year. I've been taking vitamins/biotin, stopped using all heat, cowashing, and wearing it up constantly. Does anyone else have any tips? Thank you in advance. I want long hair so badly! OK, I think I can juuuust about join this thread now... My hair, when wet, is comfortably shoulder-length, and when dry, the longest layers are just shoulderlength....finally!!!

God knows whether I can do a decent braid, its been nearly a decade since I had hair long enough to braid, so I'm terribly out of practice.

Although, sometimes I do little mini-braids in my dog's hair when I'm bored. Yeah I know that's weird. :shrug:

It looks great! My french braids are reasonable but I can't tuck them yet, I have so many layers I have to leave a long tassle and it falls out everywhere if I try to tuck it.
