APL is 24 on me too.
This is my hair. I'm pretty well APL, at least in the back, but still have trouble doing a lot of styles because my APL is only about 21-22 inches and I have a lot of layers and angled cut on the sides, much of which is still only shoulder or less in length.Quote:

I am another who has passed on the numbers. It seems to change no matter how hard I try to do it exactly the same.
I will continue to just use my very vague "this is where it feels and looks to be" measure.
My hair grows SO SLOW. I'm kind of dreading the next TTT because it will be the first time I've actually measures it's slow progress. :p

So I can do this with a stick or a fork in the top. I have to be happy with this for now.
I try a smaller sock bun and I have work this with my GTS forks, too.
Gotta wait, no choice.
Oh and Firegypsy does a Pha bun for her fork. It looked great on the GTS thread.
I managed to get my hair to stay up with two sticks today! I don't think it really counts as a bun and the sticks are a bit long at the moment but it's very secure and fun to do something different :D I've ordered some 5" sticks from Etsy which should work well for this "do".
