I'm actually considering sitting this month out :(
I just took a "before" picture for my rooibos experiment, and I don't want to take another so soon. Plus I want to wait so it's like "Bam! Tons of growth!" next time I look at my hair.
I also don't have a way of getting a decent picture :p hopefully DF will be amenable to taking one soonish
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm currently busy with a little NW/SO experiment (yeah, I know, it's a little extreme, I just like to experiment ) and my hair, well, ugh, may look a little ...*cough*... oily?? Anyway, just consider this a warning as I still want to do the towel test (I missed the last one) and I think (hope?) I had quite some growth going on...
:guns:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm skipping the treatment this week. My hair is still incredibly soft and managable from Sunday's conditioner, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Plus I'm contemplating visiting my hairdresser tomorrow for some colour-help, but I could just as well change my mind :-) I'm in for the TTT though!

We post pics of our length with a towel wrapped around around under our arms to see how far we have to go to apl.

Of course you do! Towel Test Thursday (or TTT) is a tradition on this thread on every first Thursday of a month. People take a picture of their (mostly wet) hair with a towel wrapped around them on armpit level to show their length (and the distance to APL). It's lots of fun and a good way to get a glimpse at many a beautiful head of hair.
For inspiration, May pictures start around page 403 of this thread: (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/for...33961&page=403).
Since you asked you're most certainly expected to join in with pictures ;) :D
As for other traditions, there is also "Treatment Tuesday", which is every Tuesday when people share the treatment they did that day and last month there was also the first round of a "Hair Toy Wednesday" (ugh, I think it actually had a more clever name which I can't remember...) which takes place on the second Wednesday of a month when people show styles with their favorite hair toys (That one might cost you a lot of money as it is filled with evil enabling ;))
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
nice! and when you hit the towel you're officially APL? I've been WONDERING how to tell!

Depending on how you wrap the towel, you can cheat a bit ;):D
For layered hair, it might be more difficult, but most graduate when the bulk of the hair reaches the towel.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've never participated in tt as I don't usually do extra treatments. Besides Monistat and catnip. LOL. But my wash days are Sunday and Wednesday. But this week I'm waiting for a treatment to arrive. So I'll mention it now and tell you results next week as I'm doing it on Sunday. I got a half cup off the swap board of oatstraw, nettle, horsetail and henna. It is to be mixed with vinegar and egg. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Yay! See, this is why I don't want to leave this thread when I reach APL. It has so much going on, it's all fun, and the hair toy enabling is dangerous!

That does sound like an interesting treatment! I hadn't even heard of using oatstraw and horsetail in a hair treatment.
