I don't know WHAT is going on with my hair... I just got out of the shower and it honestly looks like it's ~.5" SHORTER than it was yesterday. Ugh. I'm going to be in this thread a while yet.

Thanks battles! You are awesome.:D I don't think I have time for that because I'm on here on my free time. LOL
Oh bunnysaur, sigh, I'll be in here awhile and with you because I want APL hair when it's dry. Hmm maybe your hair is shrinking up a little to prepare for a very big growth spurt? I sometimes feel like my hair doesn't grow or it looks shorter, and then bam! Big growth spurt!
Finally reached APL when wet today.http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...iend/g4442.gif Today was my third wash for this week and its been consistently the same at APL. I know my own hair best, which is why noticed I've been able to lately transition to wearing only one hair stick comfortably(holds all day with a tight cinnabun) as opposed to needing extra supports that forks and antlers provide( I'll continue to wear them of course), goodies to share with you all after Bunnysaur and ravenHeather showcase their toys! I'm claiming title also for the fact that i can already do a nautilus bun with my half updos as shown earlier, i can do cinnabuns comfortably and now i can do high cinnabuns. I will remain here until my hair is apl when dry- which I've also roughly estimate my hair will be at APL+ closer to BSL when wet by the time that happens. My participation now will be to cheer you all and give support. Cheers!
P.S I would share pics but my boo has been away on a business trip. He's my photographer for my towel test.
Hi, Choicely, welcome! I notice that you have your hair listed in your profile as 1b, but if you have flippy-flippy ends that drive you nuts at chin, have you considered that you might be a 1c or even 2a? Do you ever have frizz issues? It might be interesting to post a hair typing photo and get feedback from other members. Here's an article with info on how to get a hair typing photo that reflects your natural wave pattern. I do take issue with the article on one thing though -- I recommend detangling thoroughly before the shower and then not combing conditioner through but rather scrunching it in. While I normally finger-comb conditioner through, even that small amount of finger-combing is enough to pull a noticeable amount of the natural wave out for me. And at the end, gently blot/scrunch your hair, rather then using a wringing motion to get water out before you exit the shower.
Anyway, I just bring this up because it seems like hair typing is way more confusing for people who fall between 1c and 2b than it is for people elsewhere on the spectrum. Our hair is pretty changeable, and is often easily mistaken for "difficult" straight hair.
Again, welcome aboard! :cheese:
I need some help with hairsticks! I just got a message back from Nightblooming (about the color-changing sticks remember?) and she's more than happy to make a pair for me as well :D
Now i don't want to change anything about the sticks, i think they're pretty unique as they are, but she did ask me for usable length
What usable length should i ask for? I have a 60th street fork with 3,5" usable length (if i measured correctly), and a 5" ketylo which is just long enough. I want the hairsticks to be mine for a long time yet, so would 5" usable length be long enough?
It is a pair of sticks, so i guess they'll be more secure than just one stick, even if they're shorter.
Thanks you guys! :)
Tonight I'm really frustrated. I know my hair keeps growing, and it is a lovely color, and healthy and thick too, so the cut was fine, and I needed it. But at the same time, this month last year I still had my hip length hair. I did abuse bleach and everything, and I should have just maintained it, but I don't have the patience for that.
It is just very frustrating to not be able to play with my own long hair, and my clip in extensions feel very foreign in my head, even if they look great.
My mother also chopped her waist length hair to just below shoulders. She's very happy and I'm happy for her too, but whyyyy.
Do you mean the entire hairstick or the usable length? Because the hairsticks i'm looking at have a decoration at the top, so you can't put the entire stick in. I do think that maybe a longer usable length would be better, about 6" maybe? So i can still use it when my hair is (much) longer :D
