I don't want to sound negative, but I would be surprised if you found a hairdresser that would S&D for you.
Thanks! I'll attempt to get some trimming in myself and see if I can get enough to make a difference. I not, I'll call some salons. You're not being negative at all and I tend to agree. My approach will be to call salons that offer devacut - a time consuming, expensive process where by curly hair is cut dry on a per curl basis. If I can ask that kind of salon whether they would do something akin to a "dusting" diva cut, it might do the trick for me.

That sounds pretty smart actually! They will be use to taking their time and working on each strand/curl section separately.

I didn't want to focus over the next thread without having said thank you to you all for the wonderful encouragement :flowers:! You made the growing progress so much fun, I'll be lurking here still from time to time :couch::heartbeat
Bonus picture of where I am now (colors again are a little off, I blame the phone camera):

Ask for a light dusting, not a trim. It's a technique used to not cut any length but only the damaged hair tips

Welcome! Congrats on the all natural color! I love when I can finally cut all the dyed ends off.

CongratulationsSleepyTangles! YOur hair is looking awesome and long and thick! Beautiful. :)
I know my hair is longer but it still feels short. I still have to pull it straight to reach APL. I mean of course I do, it can't grow an inch in a week! LOL Of course I keep on checking. I have been able to do double braids much better at this slightly longer length and I have been wearing those the past few days. But my tassesls love to curl up so my braid ends only hit at about collarbone.

Wow - that hemline, that thickness, that length - would be my own dream come true! Many congratulations.

Thank you! I'll have to call around to talk first. My bad habit of ignoring my hair as long as humanly possible then walking into a discount/chain haircut shop and walking out with a chin length disaster has got to be broken.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Also ask them to show you how much they are taking off

Yeah, I've been there too. Make sure they understand that you don't want any length removed. You can try Feye's trimming method when your hair is long enough to cut yourself
