Thanks guys! Its a rose bun, so the top half is rope braided then pinned up like a cinnabun (I used bobby pins).
Re: not seeing growth in monthly pictures - thats partly why I dont do the monthly photo anymore. I'd rather compare several months between and see the growth then obsess over getting it to lay perfect and show the length and still somehow look shorter than the previous month. Its too stressful!
Also congrats Bluecardigan, whether you decide to maintain or not, you've made it (:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I don't know if I ever posted in this thread last time I grew my hair out, but here's to round two, I guess!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Everyone is looking great.
Welcome Jing!
My hair in the front is way past CBL... I'm gonna trim back to shoulder next week, i hope it makes a difference to my hemline.

How is everyone doing?
My hair is taking its own schweet time to grow. Feels like a stall some days, and a growth spurt other days. And visually....nada.. same ol' same ol'. I am being impatient, yes.
It feels like it is getting thicker though.. hmmmm
I will trim when the 'no trim, 1st half of 2018' challenge concludes, which is something I am excited for.
Then use my diy growth oil (CurlyPoverbz, anyone?) and hopefully be pleased with my distance to reach APL by year's end.
How much are you planning on trimming? Congrats on gaining thickness, that's such a good feeling!
I'm doing OK thanks, making gains as slow as ever! I'm still not sure whether to trim at the end of June as planned or to wait until October (last trim was January). Starting to be able to do proper buns though, which is awesome.

Sometimes I want to chop off all my layers, but as my hair is getting longer the urge is slowly fading. I start to feel confortable my - just past collarbone - length. I can wear my hair in a low pony held by a scrunchie. My shortest layers are still slipping after a while, but it is not bother me anymore. :) I can't wait to wear a single english braid again! :)
I hope it won't be long until you can wear a single braid :) I'm glad you've got to a stage where the shortest layers aren't bothering you.

I was a bit sad about my hair since I last posted here (long story short-ish: I cut blunt bangs, then health issues arrived + huge doses of antibiotics caused a guite big hairloss, am probably i instead of ii now), so I stopped obsessing over my hair and have been doing benign neglect since.
Today I noticed my hair (stretched) reaches APL at the front, and got curious about where it reaches at the back,, turns out it finally is APL, even unstretched as well! :cheer::happydance::graduate:
I Wish I could post a picture of my success (still don't know how to do it, lol,,)
My ends have some split ends, and feel a little dry though, so I have not decided if I should do a small trim and maintain this lenght for a while or graduate to the next thread. :)
Congratulations! :cheer: I'll keep my fingers crossed you can get image posting to work.

Ah, I can see how that works now you say it, thank you! I'm going to have to try that...
Welcome Jing! :blossom:
Best of luck with the hemline, Stray_mind!
Congrats on the growth rate, Suortuva! It'll be no time before you get that 4cm back.

But when you look back at photos you can see HUGE differences over a few more months
I couldn’t believe how much my hair has grown over a ear when I thought it had stopped growing
I took my first length shot in February and decided to take it only every two month, because I was sure that my growth will be invisible. So I passed March and took a picture in April. There was a hardly noticable improovment as I thought, but it not made me disappointed. My virgin hair is growing longer and I feel my hair longer. So why not take pictures in every month and make an animation after a year? Or keep takeing length shot until I reach my goal and make that animation then? I love to see such a thing everywhere. I love hair growth journey videos on Youtube.
So no, this length shots aren't make me disappointed. If you thought I am disappointed is because English is not my first language and I can't use it properly... sorry.

My growth rate seems to be avarage 1/2" a month. Yes, in May I got 1,5 cm according to my virgin roots. I really hope I can make it in June too, but let's see. With my floppy ends I won't look at APL that time I am reach it streched, so I might stay here until the towel test confirm I am there visible. :)

Length shots is only stressful if you want to see big differences in relativly short time frames. If you make it for fun it is not stressful at all. :)

Congratulations for the buns! It should feel amazing! :) My shortest layers are poking out from the furst bump, but not before that so, yeah, I have progress. I think I would be able to make an english braid at the end of the summer. And if not... I will wait more! :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi fred
About 1-1.5cm....not too much
:)
Your hair is looking beautiful, love the colours.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
This morning I realised my hair's got long enough that I can S&D the back, yay! And yet also not yay, cause I've been finding what I hope is the last of the heat damage from the year before last, the last time I had my stylist use straighteners on my hair. Some of those ends were most definitely fried. I remember noticing it at the time with portions at the front, and vowing never again on the straighteners. This definitely helps strengthen my resolve!
A question for everyone - what's your fave hairtoy at this length?
Right now mine's my super cheap metal two prong fork that I got on eBay, I use it most days.

:cheer: for getting there by the end of Summer! :D

That's about what I was thinking about having off. I had 2cm off in January and it took until March for it to feel like it was growing again, which has really put me off, but I definitely need the ends evening up.

Mine is this fork with a claw on the end I bought at wally world.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Oh no ! I’m so sorry ... I don’t think that you are disappointed . I’m just rambling about my own experience. I tend to ramble a lot and go a bit off topic sometimes.
I am so sorry I should be more thoughtful about my posts
your English is perfect
Your English is better than mine and English is my first language :) I wouldn’t have know at all

A random claw clip. It's the only kind of toy that'll keep my hair in an updo at this length (...except when it doesn't). Maybe at APL I'll be able to use a fork if it has enough prongs. My hair laughs at hair sticks even at waist length. Drives me nuts. I don't know how many of my old toys dropped to the floor five minutes after I put them in... So many gorgeous toys out there and my hair just won't have any of it. :boohoo:
