I'm set to take one April 1st (heh), and if I keep getting .5/mo I'll be at APL by like... late March. May as well wait the week or whatever to move and use a nice fresh photo cropped at BSL (man I really like that idea lol Thanks Joyful Mystery if you still peek in here!). And then I can be totally sure that I really really did make it and I'm not making it up LOL.
You're so close! Glad you liked my idea! ;)
I hope we can be in the next thread together soon!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
You've hadso much growth Corvana, you're nearly there. Your hair is so pretty.

I do that, I don't see it as cheating. I mean...the towel can't go higher than armpit, can it?;)

Yep! And I like having set dates for doing things, because it keeps me from feeling the urge to do it more than I should. I can actually ignore my hair more now that I've set myself dates for when I take length shots and when I measure!

It’s going to mean you’re slightly further APL when you join the new thread
It will feel quicker to wait until April knowing you will be at that milestone starting a new thread rather than joking the new thread asap and ending up feeling like you’re there longer
I dunno it’s just how I work
I feel like April is easy to wait until ... after all this time April would be amazing to hit APL FINALLY
if you don’t trim you would then be only two months from compelteing he first half 2018 no trim challenge and you could post a pic for that too so something to aim at just after joking the APL thread
I think APL to BSL will be much quicker or at least feel it
You will be in the true long hair category then you will have achieved a huge milestone imo
Waiting until April to celebrate isn’t too bad right ?
( and secretly I might be hoping to follow you into the thread soon after hopefully too )
If it's like February, then I'll take an unscheduled picture. But I'm not too fussed about waiting a whole week LOL. I don't think I'll even have any noticeable growth anyway, so it's all the same really!
And APL to BSL won't take too long at all! If I call at the top of BSL (nah) then it's like 1.5"?? I've measured it a BUNCH and it's the same. I have to wear big-boob bras, so the bands are thick, plus I'm shorter in the torso so there's already less space lol. Mid-BSL is 25.5" and the bottom is 26.5". APL is 22.5", so it's no real slog at all compared to the 6.5" of SL to APL! I plan to call BSL at the halfway point (so that I have more to grow to waist, which is 28.5" or 29").

I probably won't take length pics till the end of February (3 months since my first pic). Sounds quite similar to your plan, so maybe we are doing something right:beercheer: It's certainly not going to grow backwards, you know:)
Yeah the front of my hair doesn't help me at all. That's a big part of why part of my brain is like "you're not really that close to APL"! I should take a photo to show you guys lol.

OK, sooooo today was The January Trim, and I'm super happy with how it turned out. This time I asked for as little off as possible, max of 2cm (bigger max this time than last time because there were some bent ends, and a few splits turning up), and a bit of shaping at the front. This time she didn't even offer to use the straighteners. Annoyingly, I had a coughing fit when she was blow drying the front, but she got me some water!
I'm getting really excited about where it'll be in six months time. It finally feels like it's getting some length to it, and although I do still feel like I'm stuck in the middle of Eternal Shoulder Length, I can definitely see the progress.
It's sooooooooo cute!! And you can DEFINITELY see growth, too!

Nope! It's the best way to keep it even, and if you have it too lose it could be too low and not actually be APL!

Now I'll go back and read the thread, see what everyone else has been up to :)
It's so lovely!! And your hemline is looking really nice!

Hehehe I knew you still popped in here! I 100% already stalk the APL to BSL thread
And it's a great idea! A nice little visual way to show the marker you're aiming for without having to pop in some lines and stuff. Plus it'll make a cool little montage later on since they'll all be really close to the same size and easy to line up.

Aaah thank you :o! It doesn't feel like a ton of growth, but I mean... I can't deny the photographic evidence!

I haven't! I was extremely tempted by henna for the majority of my time on here, but then I found out my hair was wavy and I already knew that henna and cassia loosen waves and curls, so I immediately changed my mind about them
I think, though, cassia works a lot like henna but just doesn't last quite as long!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi everyone!! This is my first post :D
I'm at APL when my hair is completely wet in the shower, but its curly so shrinks up quite a bit when its dry, to just below the shoulders. I guess I'm not technically at APL yet… or am I?

Hello and welcome to LHC!!
You can call APL curly or stretched, or both! Neither is incorrect. I'm a (lightly) wavy, and have been measuring stretched the whole time because I wanna ;) And I also tend to brush my hair as straight as I can (no heat) for length photos because, again, I can.
I believe we have (had? I haven't seen them in a little while, I don't think!) someone who is doing both, just to have more milestones to count on! And I know of one person who goes by stretched only (I'm pretty sure, at least), because their hair has a good ton of shrinkage. I believe they have a goal for visual length on top of their stretched goal, as well.
Basically, the world is your oyster, measure milestones as you please!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I’m so glad wedging the towel in your armpit counts otherwise I was going to say I’m away further away than I thought
I try to keep it as tight and straight as possible
It LOOKS like about 2 inches to go so April at the earliest for me will be APL , that’s assuming that I get the average growth rate and not less
Roll on April !!!
