Corvana thanks for your wise words. :) After lots of consideration I have cut myself (very very slowly) a side fringe which looks nice and brings out my silver which I like. I can now leave the rest of my hair alone until it reaches APL.

So I got my measuring tape out for the first time ever today. Apparently APL on me is about 20 inches, does that sound about right?
Honestly no idea. Everyone is different, so maybe! I measured like 4 times, and I'm still not sure it's right. But yet here I am, months and months later, still having not asked my husband to measure my milestones :laugh:Quote:

I've been feeling like my hair hasn't really been growing at all, it's in a bit of an abyss of "between CBL and APL". But I picked up my phone while fiddling with my hair a bit and caught my reflection in the black screen. So I took a picture because I remembered an older pic I took of when I was extra extra bothered by the shrinkage caused by my hair's flippiness.

I tried to get about the same spot of hair, which wasn't too difficult since my hair has been parting itself about there for like a year now. I didn't get the exact same angle, but it's close-ish, and what I thought was funny when I went and looked for the first one, I'm holding my hair in pic 2 where the ends are in pic 1 (give or take a smidge).
My growth spurt stopped in about July, so having gotten used to that as "normal" (never measured before May!), length gains since have felt glacial. So it's nice to see concrete proof of growth! Besides the little things like all my hair making it to my english braid, and nothing falling out of my claw clip (unless I put it in too loose, of course).
I'm hoping that hitting APL for actual real will help this "my hair isn't growing :wail:" funk, but considering the other posts I see around the forums as a whole, I don't think it will ever go away :laugh:
I figure I will be at APL by this time next year if I don't have to trim too often. My son has a new woodworking hobby and has made several sticks and spirals that I'd like to wear in my hair. I can put my hair up with them now, but it won't stay. I think my son fears it's his designs even though I tell him it's simply because my hair is currently too short. I want to prove it to him as encouragement.
