I don't! I like the layers, they add moment to my thick hair :)

Okay, I was just curious :)
I've tried layers a few times and never cared for them. I have thick hair too and prefer to keep it blunt.

Hello! I'm hoping to reach apl in a few months or so. What are people's experiences with acv rinses?

I love ACV rinses. I add a splash of it to my oversized mug of water and pour it over my freshly washed hair. I don't rinse it out. I find it makes my hair a bit softer.
Also....I found and purchased spin pins!! I think I will end up really liking them. Right now they don't hold my layers in but even so, a Cinnabon with layers sticking out feels quite secure.

Our hair looks really similar! When my hair dries it's wavy too. About six years ago I grew my hair out blunt to collarbone and I didn't like it at all on myself. Felt so stiff! Now I find I like how my hair feels and actually feel like I can keep on growing. Who knows how I will feel about the layers as its gets longer but for now they are my saving grace.

I think your coarser hair texture could be why it felt so stiff.
I'm glad you found what works best for you so you can continue to grow long :)
Also, glad the spin pins are working out for you so far.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I am pondering whether to cut a little bit of layers myself, next time I trim, at new moon, around a week from now. The idea would be to trim them Feye method first, something like half and inch, and then to do the compact method, cutting for now just 2-3 inches off a crown tail.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
My hair is starting to feel a bit longer now and I sure am enjoying it. It will take a long time before I am back to where I was, but I don't mind.
I am considering taking a new starter photo and go with that one (and it's date) as a new "lhc anniversary photo". Since I did cut my hair and then started growing it again, having the join date (3rd of august) as hair length check is a bit off.
