I know how you feel I am stuck with sock bun, braids and just a cinna bun.. boring, as for the bangs I could not stand the grow out so I let half of them grow and end up having to heat style what is still short, but its ok to me cause they get trimmed at least once a month :)
Just above shoulder is a bad look for me, too, b/c of the flippy ends. I did the trim/repeat cycle many times, but this time, I just determined I would not cut it or look at it, and it is finally below the lowest point of my collarbone and I love it! You just have to wait and no talk of "I'll just even up the layers..."
Hmm, I really like the shape of my hair today. So bizarre! I'm savoring the moment while it lasts. :p

I rather wear a sock bun than a tiny bun or french twist, my head is just huge. :p If you don't like tiny buns, utdesertrunner, you could try the sock bun! :) My buns are average now, I like to do a loop bun and mess with it. Not to advertise, but I have pics in my album, I'm liking these a lot because it's a very secure up-do with sticks (I bought a bunch from a local store). :D
I'm getting SO close to APL now that I'm getting completely obsessed! Aaaargh! In the last week I've been checking like every morning if I was there yet. It's really a matter of... not even half an inch! But every time I look it feels like "mmmmhm... not just yet". SO frustrating! Give me that last bit already will ya! :D

I still don't know how you ladies get sock buns into such short hair! Mine is about an inch longer than my avatar, and it's not even close to going into a sock bun, it just slips out, sticks out and generally looks dreadful. BUT - I just got my hair up in a French twist comb! :happydance: :cheer: :cheese:
