I posted a length shot in my album, I was really excited because I finally have been able to take one :D hooray. I'm not quite at shoulder because I have a slight wave in my hair, but some days it's shoulder so I'll pretend to be in this group.

A huge congrats to Haybop!! And askan, I love your hair colour. It's like pure gold! :o
So on October 9th I had my mom measure my hair for the first time [I had never measured hair from hairline to ends before] and it came out to 19.5 inches. I had her measure again today because I've been paranoid about my hair loss and It came to 20'' exactly. I'm sooo happy my hair has made some progress, even if it's just average. I've only lost a very small amount of thickness from this shed, but it's still worrying.
I did my first CO wash ever today [if I've done it before I don't remember it!] My hair is still soaking wet right now though. I wonder what the results will be like, considering I did ALL of my hair. I wanted to try to moisturize my dry scalp. I don't really care if my hair looks kinda gross tomorrow, I'm only going to my SO's house. :p
ETA: I was wondering about this... APL is very close to 'cleavage length' on me. Is that the case for anyone else here? I thought cleavage length would be longer but it's only like 1/2'' past APL!
Emilylightning, thanks! It is actually just washed out copper red chemichal dye. For some reason my own natural colder blonde roots dont show in the photos from behind, but I'm growing them out. Congratulations on your new growth and first CO wash! It's an interesting experiment, hopefully both your hair and scalp will be happy.
I'm at little past CBL after trimming from APL a month ago (damage from a keratin treatment)
I will be maintaining for one year while trimming off what grows until it is healthy again.
What I did to check my hair growth and feel motivated...I cut one hair from my forehead hairline. Layed cuticle scissor falt and cut it to where it was scalp length. Why? Now I can see how long my hair is really growing. These 2 test hairs will now mark my growth daily. I cut them completely off just last week and feel encouraged backsaw I can see growth!
I think its cool to see it.
Just an idea.
I don't really know how long my hair really is, it keeps flipping up at the ends. I hope the lenght will weigh them down with time. I think i'm about an inch below shoulder lenght now. Well at least i fixed my dandruff problem. I just needed to clarify a couple of times. It seems i shouldn't put my leave in conditioner on my roots. Something dries the skin terribly. And the itching scalp is gone too. I think it was something like an allergic reaction.. :hmm: Well, i'm glad it's over :D
I have some news... and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
My hair is EXACTLY 20'' right now. I had mom find APL on me and it's 23''. I have 3'' left before I'm APL which is 6 more months.
So I'll be APL in May... I will reach my goal of APL by/before graduation... but idk I feel a bit disappointed because 6 months feels like forever.
Last May [6 months ago, ha!] I was at that length that just covered my whole neck, not even full shoulder length, just barely there.
I definitely feel like I've come a long way since then, but I'm in the exact middle of my journey, which can be a bit disheartening.
At least I'm not plagued with temptations to cut it, and 20'' sounds sooo good. Idk it's just such a nice, clean number.
Woah... when I think about it... I'm halfway to my ultimate goal! BCL/TBL is 37.5'' on me, and my hair is 20''... That's really uplifting! :D
ETA: My bangs just are not cooperating. I think I'm going to grow them a little bit [to a more side-sweepy style] because they are so bad looking.
Don't worry, those 6 months will fly by in no time. At least that's how time flies for me. :)
stupid me cut my hair from apl to shoulder in july this year, why? i have no freaking idea, it such a UGH HATE length, i cant do anything with it. I need 3 inches to get to apl, when i straightening it its already almost there (the longest pieces) but when its curly it goes back to shoulder length, i used to have midback length but i took it for granted:(im taking every pill of the planet to speed it up and so far its working, but i have been wearing my hair up lately...everyday! and i hate updo's, but hey girl's gotta do what she's gotta do. I never reallt had to grow my hair out since my hair has always been midback so i took it for granted and never knew how hard it is to grow hair out to midback again! omg! never will i cut my hair again!
Woho, some progress in the last couple of months! It doesn't feel like it's longer and it still feels very short in the front, but it seems I've had some growth. I want to join the "1 picture a month" thread next year, and take good pictures with a measuring shirt and everything! Need to decide on a good photo spot when I move in a month.
