Maybe I'll try a deep condition later tonight. And I really do need to practice more styles, I'm just stubborn because I have half grown out bangs and I know they look awful no matter what I do. I'm kind of in, "Why bother? It looks terrible no matter what" mode.
Thanks for the suggestions! :flower:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm experiencing something new here - longer hair!! All of a sudden it's everywhere, gets in the way if I'm not keeping it up and it tangles! I haven't had this long hair in years and back then I had no clue about protective haircare but now I kinda react everytime my hair gets stuck, rubs between back and chair and so on and I'm realising that when it gets longer I will really need to take care of it!
The two last times I've been at my parents' house, my dad has commented on that my hair "looks long today!" haha that's the best comment I've received since my boyfriend told my my "head looks nice".
ETA: Sorry everyone, I meant to post this in another thread :P
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm just barely brushing APL, but I think I'll wait til I'm solidly there to call it. I need a trim soon anyways and I'd just be right back here. :p
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
This is my very first length check post! I'm currently growing out a long pixie which is now about 1" past SL. I have about 5 more in. until APL. I hope that I will reach my goal by April if I continue with 1" of growth/month. I'm currently trying to eat healthy (more veggies, protein). I currently try to tzke my spirulina supp;silica, women's multi vit, and vit C once a day. I spray my scalp with a rosemary andn ettle tea infused with ACV, peppermint and tea tree EO. I use this as a conditioning rinse on wash day. I also do the inversion method once a week every 3 weeks. :Is this obsessive
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I fall into this category too =) I feel like I have been stuck here forever, and unfortunately I have dye damage so I may be stuck here a while longer. I try to wear my hair up but I don't think I am doing it right because it seems to make my hair bend oddly at the ends. I also have this weird fear that my hair will just keep breaking off and I'll be stuck at shoulder forever :O
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
My hair has not grown *at all* this month! Going to restart inversion to see if that kicks things off again. With an inch and a half to go to APL I think I'm going to have to shelve my goal of APL by Christmas.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've made it! It's difficult to see here, by my hair is APL. I let it dry naturally today and it was still long enough with shrinkage. Yay! I'll be moving onto the next thread.

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I finally made APL . I only joined this site in septembe i think and seeing photos from june is really mind-bogling because i grew from chin/shoulder to Apl in just 6 months!!!! Well, now for APL to MBL. Holy cow thats gonna take a while :p
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I think my stylist went overboard with the "trim". I measured. It's significantly shorter. :( I'm so upset right now. I don't know what to do....

Try not to think about it too much. Try a wear your hair up for a month challenge or something and the length will be back before you know it, even healthier than before. This happened to me too a couple months ago. I went in and said no more than like 1/4 an inch and she took off an inch or more. It seemed soo short but now it's back again and longer a d healthier. In the future try to limit salon trims to only when very necessary..once or twice a year. And s&d at home when needed. Good luck :)
