I'm calling shoulder and joining. :) So glad to be out of chin ridiculousness, but I still can't get it up without it looking insane.
Nice to see everyone!

Joining this thread, I past shoulder a while ago, waiting to make it to APL. I did some measuring today and I have approx 2.5" until APL, so hopefully in about 6 months I will be there. Happy growing everyone.:)
I hear ya on the hair too short to do an updo that doesn't require half a dozen hair implements, its where I was until about 6 months ago. Finally my hair is long enough to go up with just a hair fork and it will stay that way for most of the day. It seemed to take forever to grow past that, just really grateful that I can put my hair up and forget about it. Battles hopefully you won't have too much longer to wait until you're there too. :)
Welcome, battles and Sterlyn!
battles, perhaps you should invest in a satin pillowcase. They'll help with the crazy bed head.
JessicaAnn: That is quite amusing! My hair seems thinner than usual lately. I am actually quite glad that my hair's not thick enough to break things, but it's not like anyone actually wants thin hair.
Sometimes I miss slightly-past-chin length because it was so simple... but I know I'd regret it if I cut my hair again. I ALWAYS regret it. I'm so happy with my hair right now, but it's such a hassle when I'm paranoid about any possible damage. :/
I can't wait to use hair forks again. :) I'm glad you're able to.
I usually wear a sleep cap to bed, mine just goes crazy when I try to put it up because it's too short. :p I actually need to get a new sleep cap, the band on mine is starting to stretch out..
I have some weird news... I have a hello kitty hair brush [I used to hate it, I didn't like the way it worked? Something like that] And looking at it... the bristles are a lot like a tangle teaser! I haven't actually ever seen a tangle teaser in real life, but upon inspecting close up pictures of the bristles and comparing to this hair brush... looks exactly the same! These little flexible plastic bristles on the hello kitty brush are completely seamless.
I gently brushed my hair with it [although I admit, I brushed for a long while because it felt nice... whoops!] and now my hair is SUPER tangle-free, albeit greasy. It definitely distributed the sebum through my hair. I really like this thing! I think I'll stick to using it before washes though... lol.
And on another note, I managed a lazy wrap bun. Not so lazy >:/ Took forever to figure out. However, I got it to hold. It's a bit messy because my hair is stupid tho :p
Whoa, Christmas party coming up and I'm looking for the perfect updo! There will be some people there I wanna impress, since I tend to wear sloppy sportswear and no makeup whenever I meet them.
I'll practise updos with no heat-curls.. I like the idea of loose curls randomly pinned up in the back in a fancy but not too fancy bohemian looking updo. But no heat curls is more waiting for hair to dry than actually practising updos. haha. Right now I'm trying three bantu knots. If you can think of any tips for updos, or possibly youtube links, please share them! :D
These are some I found that I really like! My hair isn't as long, nor as thick as these girls', so I might resort to some teasing and spraying to get the volume...

I like the "fringe poof" she does, that's my standard thing, it's very flattering!
So here is 6 months of growth. The first picture is from my friends wedding on the 22nd of June and I had just gotten my hair cut the day before. The other is from today. No I didn't style my hair today, that's why it looks messy, but I am guessing it grew about 3 inches since June. Hooray!
