I took these yesterday, a few different angles to make sure I wasn't imagining it. That's my natural texture, combed when wet and with a bit of oil and some Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner on the ends. Underneath it's ringlet city, but those never stick around for long!

Had to use my top for the towel test seeing as my hair didn't dry until I got to work, but it's definitely touching it!
So what do you think, is that enough to call it?
Hi there! And wow, congrats! Growing out a pixie sounds like the hardest of the hair-length struggles. But you've made it! And your hair's gorgeous, such lovely curls and colour.
Well, some of your ends certainly brush that towel.. i think you can call when you feel you're there yourself. :)
Your hair is lovely! Love the color :crush:

Thank you! I'm really enjoying this colour. It's not sticking so well on my roots, but that's the price I pay for giving up whole-head bleaching ;_; I live in hope it'll have its rewards someday!
For the last few months I've been nearly there, and thinking I can't call it, even though people online and offline have said it looks like it's there. Finally feeling like actually maybe it's got there now, even though it's not all the hair, and I've definitely got an unwanted U hem developing at the back there!
Not sure if the hem's down to the rate of growth or the cut or what - I try to be super clear with my stylist that I want my hair to be the same length all over (except at the very front), with no feathering, layers, blending etc., and definitely not a U hem. I am growing out feathering she gave the one time I forgot to explicitly tell her not to, so maybe that's part of the problem. I think I'm just going to have to grow it and see what happens, and I might need to find a milestone to maintain at for a while along the road, to let the sides catch up.

Yeah, i am also growing out my layers. I trimmed my hair june second to make my hem more even and it really payed off. Of course, it will Never look Blunt, because of my waves, but when i comb it, it looks thick and nice. Some layers still need to catch up though, but i will take my time and trim every 6 months. Then when i am at BSL or past it i will cut my hair in a very slight U shape, since that's what i like most on my hair. :)
My hair looks like That when i comb it. Of course i recently washed it, so it's all fluffy and some wavies still flip up...

You're doing so well with it too! How far does your shortest layer have to go?
Agreed on the slight U, it does look super nice (as do the other hem styles), but I was really hoping to grow out with a blunt hem. I've always been envious of people with blunt hems, they look so neat and tidy - as opposed to my hair which hardly ever looks neat and tidy loose! I'm beginning to wonder if maybe that just isn't possible for my hair type though, and I need to add this to the list of things to be realistic about so I'm not disappointed.
I last had layers a few years back, and while they were OK for me at shoulder length, I don't think they work any longer (for me, anyway), because my hair just isn't thick enough to make that look good. I've learnt my lesson about feathering now! Thank goodness it isn't proper layers, just a bit of blending at the front, but it does annoy me that I just plain forgot to specify no blending/feathering back in January.

My shortest layer is at ear length now.
I don't know. I find blunt hems look best on Straight hair. On wavy hair it just looks messy, so i prefer slight V or U hem on wavy/curly hair. And since my hair is wavy on a lot of occasions (my texture is super fickle), i think a blunt hem wouldn't look that good on it.

Yes! Congratulations fred!

It's so nice that you've already reached a point where your shortest layer has a good amount of length to it :)
I'm sure a U hem will look awesome on your hair. I know what you mean about wavy hair looking messy - it's the eternal fight I have with my hair, and the eternal disappointment that it doesn't behave in a tidy way. That said. I've seen wavy hair with a stright hemline that looks really lovely - different strokes for different folks, eh :)

Yeah, i guess. :) It also depends on the waves themselves i think. My waves are very untidy and they can go to every possible direction, hahaha.
I guess you're leaving our thread huh. That's so exciting! Good luck on your journey towards BSL ^^

The waves, they do what they will :)
And thank you! Good luck to you too :) I'm so looking forward to seeing the next stages in your hair journey.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
:cheer::cheer: yay _fred_
Congratulations. Maybe it's just the way your hair grows? Mine is like that.
